I'm going to bed. If the Cubs come back and win this you can thank me

and i'm going to the gym

i figure it's not like i'll be distraught if i miss a comeback win

I caused a scene at the gym on Murphy's home run

and a second scene when Coghlan's Homer-That-Wasn't and immediately had to leave

Take out the first inning and the Mets bats haven't done [expletive].

Not that the Cubs have, but it's annoying. Hopefully that catches up to them.

Hell just take away Murphy's bloop HR and its much more competitive

Or take away grandersons robbing Coghlan's HR/2B

Or make some of those line drives go somewhere other than right to a Met.

No doubt they haven't played well but it doesn't help when the other team seems to get all the breaks.

Oh look at all those long suffering fans. It's been a whole 15 years since they last won the pennant and 29 since they won a World Series. Poor them.

i mean

mets fans haven't had it much better in the 20 years i've been watching baseball, granted, they did have that WS loss and that series that ended on the beltran called 3rd strike.

Yeah I don't care. Their suffering pales in comparison to ours (as you know of course). At least they can find tv and radio evidence of their latest World Series victory and can see every one of their 4 (I think) World Series appearances in color

the mets are pretty similar to the bears. a world series/super bowl loss relatively recently for the younger generation to enjoy/be sad about, and one of the all-time cool teams in the mid-80s that even non-fans remember fondly and middle aged people can treasure forever. the 85 bears are cooler than the 86 mets, but the mets also have . . . anything else in their history that alive people can remember to point to.

Ugh, don't do this. Ultimately you reach a point where 30 years might as well be 100.

Swing at a ball a foot high, then take a pitch right down the middle. Good work, Denorfia.
