How so?

 

 

The only thing I can see is Maddon allowing Coghlan to hit. Even though the pitcher has reverse splits, I don't think I have ever seen Coghlan have a good AB against a lefty.

 

You could argue more of Mathenys moves have worked out but I don't know if that's more than dumb luck

 

yep, basically that's the one thing i had an issue with, and he still had a justifiable logically based reason

 

 

note to everybody - don't allow strop to face the cardinals. can we retroactively get him off the 25 man?

I don't have a problem with letting Ross hit in a 1-0 game where the Cards didn't really have anything going on offensively.
