Anyone going to PNC and in SRO? I've got a group of 3 going to bring my W Flag. Thinking of blocking off a section against that Rotunda railing.

Even though we've known the Cubs would be in this game for a while now, the nerves just kicked in a bit. I think it's because it's finally the next game the Cubs will play. The past couple weeks there's still been the hope of catching the Pirates. Now it's just the WC game.

This is going to be long few days leading up to this game!

I'll go off the board a bit for my lineup.

Fowler

Castro

Rizzo

Bryant

Schwarber

Jackson

Montero

Russel

Arrieta

Cole doesn't walk too many and has slightly better splits vs LHB than righties. Jackson/Castro have been hot and should be in the lineup

We got this.

This is the only time I've ever used the royal we when talking about the Cubs. But I feel attached to this team.

32.00 dollar megambus - 8 hours ride from NYC.

43.00 dollar airbnb

85.00 dollar - 20 dollars stubhub rewards.

Cost me a third of what a ticket would have been at Wrigley alone.

I've done that NYC-PIT drive, and it's painful. Of course, it's a little different when this game is waiting for you.

But I'd be afraid of what a $43 airbnb gets you even in a relatively small/cheap town like Pittsburgh. Sleep with one eye open.

I felt the same way before game 6 2003.

Seriously, take a couple steps back.

Got a kick out of Paul Sullivan's column today. An excerpt:

The truth of the matter is it doesn't matter how you approach the Cubs' first playoff game since 2008.

The Cubs will not be negatively affected if you're thinking about the ghosts of Chicago past, and they won't play any better if you pray in front of your TV.

They'll win if they get some timely hitting off Gerrit Cole and a typical outing from Jake Arrieta.

If not, they'll go home.

It's just that simple.

It'll have nothing to do with you or your deceased relatives who loved the Cubs and never got a chance to see them win. It'll have nothing to do with an alleged curse created by a bar owner to sell cheeseburgers and beer. It will have nothing to do with a magician or a flamingo.

For years, this was the guy who couldn't stop himself from writing about curses and how stuff happened because they're "the Cubs" and only stuff like that happens to "the Cubs." I If he could have I'm certain he would have tried to have sex with the phrase "Cubbie occurrence" he loved it so much.

He's done a total about-face.

About time.

I honestly think he's had fun covering them this year and that's the reason his columns have took a turn. Seriously, there's nothing to be negative about with this group.

I'm already getting that nervous feeling in the pit of my gut just thinking about the possibility of losing that game. I'm also seriously considering putting in a request for next Thursday off work because I don't think I will be able to sleep if they win and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to function for a whole day (at least) if they lose.

.

This year's all gravy. Enjoy it. Pressure's going to be on the other teams.

All I know is Arrieta has a golden arm and Schwarber always comes through in the clutch in the big games.
