Planning a fall wedding is dumb.

Fall is my favorite season, so I get it, but I wouldn't have gotten married in the fall in a billion years.

It's my favorite season, too, but I deliberately planned mine away from all sporting events so that people would actually be paying attention!

My roommate got married on the night of the trading deadline. One of the other people in the wedding was a beat writer for a MLB team at the time. Multiple others had journalism careers covering baseball as well. And I am just a big baseball fan. He was getting really pissed we were all checking our phones. Dude, you're lucky half of them were able to come because of the date you picked.

 

The beat writer informed me of the Gorzelanny/Grabiw trade before it broke during the rehearsal dinner.

We had awesome prime rib for my wedding. You could even get seconds if you wanted it.

Had a slow roasted lamb at my wedding. My wife and I were in our late teens and friends and family catered the whole thing and we didn't pay a dime. Food was home cooked and much better than the high dollar catering companies that serve typical weddings.

I scheduled a vacation to visit my parents in Florida from 10/10-10/12. Bad timing if/when the Cubs advance to the LDS

i'm only going to be able to watch some of the WC game, but that's the least of my worries. i'll be out of the country (for the first time ever, incidentally) the second half of october, and will completely miss the NLCS and games 1-3 of the WS. it seemed like a good idea at the time?

My sisters fall wedding was awesome, as was the experience of all of us huddling around that TV in the groundskeepers office. Clearly she couldn't know a year in advance that we'd be playing in game 4 of the nlcs. Lincoln park conservatory is gorg.

If we win the Wild Card, I am going to miss Game 1 of the NLDS, unless they play during the day. I help coach a high school football team, so I will be at our game. And they always announce Cubs and Cardinals scores over the P.A. system, too. So I am not going to be able to avoid hearing the outcome and watch it later on DVR. I'm really dreading it. I just don't know how I am going to deal with missing a playoff game.

My girlfriend might very well dump me if this goes into the NLCS. Most of the NL games are on days of the week we usually spend together.

My approach: DVR the game. Delete if a loss. Watch in fast forward for delicious (h/t to Sofa) replays if a win.
