What did he ever stumble over besides being adamant that Ricketts wasn't going to spend?

He was gung-ho on the entire idea of a rebuild and how Pujols was going to be old and broken down, and pretty much all of us yelled at him and told him how stupid that was, the Cubs obviously weren't going to do a rebuild.

Not that it means he wasn't being stupid, it's just funny in retrospect.

It was his jerkdom coming to fruition. I hope baseball hell killed him (inside).

Even though the Cubs lost a few games I was never worried because they still scored an assload of runs, As long as they keep scoring runs they'll be fine. This game is an example of that. I heart runs

Braves post-game: umpiring was a key to the game. This was one of those unfortunate games where the umpiring had s little too much to do with the outcome. Spent a full 90 seconds complaining about umpiring before giving rizzo "credit where credit is due."

I don't think the umpiring was good, but it was pretty consistent throughout. Wasn't calling the inside strike to lefties but was giving the outside corner with lefties up. Wasn't calling the high strike for most of the game, then started calling it all of a sudden but called it for both sides.

Far from the worst we've seen.

you guys asked for dongs...

The Cubs lead the National League in home runs since the all-star break with 41 and they’re third in runs scored just two behind the Pittsburgh Pirates. The offense has come alive showing no signs of slowing down behind Rizzo, the leader of the group and an MVP candidate. He has 24 home runs to go along with 24 hit-by-pitches and a .370 on-base percentage. his latest home run put the game away for his team.

God I'm loving all the hot sticks everyone is waving on this team. They're just smoking the ball, even more than they were in the 9 game winning streak. Almost no one is hotter than Fowler, which is great.

And even if the Nationals don't make the playoffs (they wont) Harper should win the MVP. Awards are where I don't let my homer flag fly, because bad decisions happen all the time and Bryce Harper is having a ridiculously amazing season on a garbage team of garbage hitters.
