Well I guess I'll give it a go. Thankfully all I have to do to show up my predecessor is remain semi-sober and get us on a killer 1-game win streak.

Norris: (2-2) 4.24 ERA 4.67 FIP 40.1 IP 28/16 K/BB 1.44 WHIP

Lester: (8-8) 3.21 ERA 2.87 FIP 145.2 IP 149/36 K/BB 1.181 WHIP

C'mon cubbies, these chumps ain't got nothing on you.

Edit: Win , lose, or rain...... SouthSideRyan is up to bat for Thursday's game vs. Atlanta.

The last couple of times we've run into a 'ace needs to be a stopper' type of game, Lester has come up big. Confident he'll do so again.

Lester's solid stats are more impressive in a way given his struggles with men on base. Impressive like someone playing piano without fingers or someone winning a gunfight with a knife.

I love how certain Cubs fans are convinced that every Lester start is going to degenerate into nothing but bunts and stolen bases and hit and runs because he's just oh-so-vulnerable to anything that happens in the infield...and then it never does.

Yep, it has nothing to do with 2 successful bunt hits and nearly a 3rd in the late innings last night.

Fortunately, the wind is supposed to be howling out and I think our dongs will prevail.

It's more like playing piano without toes or winning a gunfight with an onion tied around your belt, but actual guns in your hand, because you know, the thing that matters is that he pitches well and the other stuff is a distraction.

Boy, yeah, that tried and true tradition of easily maintaining what worked in one game; "we got a couple of bunt hits the game before, so let's just keep doing that!" Ranks right up there with, "hey, that guy should just keep hitting away from the shift" and "let's just hit some more home runs!"

To be fair, this is why we've scored like 5 runs/game the past month.

Well, to be even more fair, the Cubs are hitting dongs, not home runs.

Couple it with Lester's inability to throw to bases and it's not so crazy.

If Detroit takes the approach of bunting all game long, I'll be thrilled.

i was pretty disappointed that nobody laughed at my "well we should be ok because milwaukee has a retractable roof" response to rondon fan's post about the rain last night, but i think we gave up a home run right as it happened so it's understandable

So you seriously think because the Tigers dropped a couple of key bunt singles last night they are now going to attempt to repeatedly do the same today? It's not like they got those hits last night because of crippling breakdowns or flaws in the Cubs' defense; they were just laid down perfectly (which doesn't usually happen) and the Cubs (rightly) weren't expecting it. If they try to make it a thing again today the, for one, aren't likely to lay down bunts the good repeatedly, and the Cubs are going to be expecting it.

So, yeah, it's pretty "crazy." Especially when they can also crush the ball and the wind is going to be howling out, so I seriously doubt they're going to be repeatedly trying the same moves they did in the 8th of a tie ballgame being played after midnight.

I hope tonight does not end up like last night. Our competitors are playing good ball and our lead could evaporate quickly..

Took a look at the Career splits of the Tigers vs. Lester, and its ugly--- real ugly.

vs. lester

Cabrera Career .600 Hitter with a bomb

Kinsler Career .304 hitter with a bomb

there are many other notables...

Vietnam devalued the dong today. Not sure what this means for the Cubs today, just pointing it out.

A good troll can be funny. He just needs to go because he contributes nothing at this point.
