Hopefully Richard can handle this lineup.

Would be a dream go into that Pirates series with a chance to tie them.

Richard has a career 6.75 era at miller park in 21 innings.

At least Lohse turns everyone into Bryce Harper.

This is two really bad pitchers going at it so it'll like be 2-0 or something inexplicable because of it

The thing about Clayton Richard is you look at that 2013 ERA and you're like "damn, thats bad, I wonder what his peripherals look like, maybe he just got pretty unlucky on some flyballs"

and then you look at his FIP and it says to you "Nah man, he's been really bad in every way its possible to be bad" and then you look at his 2015 peripherals and you realize they're almost the same as 2013. Except with fewer strikeouts.

Same lineup as the last few days today. Schwarber again behind the plate.

I'm pleasantly surprised Schwarber is catching day after night. Have to think Teagarden gets the demotion for Richard.

I think the Cubs are 0-2 when previously 9 games over .500 (even going on skids for a while thereafter), so please, break through today & get to that 10 game over mark.

On 02 Aug 03 the CUBS were 55-54 in 3rd place 3.5 GB of Houston, and 2.5 GB of St. Louis.

51-52 after 103 games, however

and 5.5 out

Probably Szczur. But I wish it was Javy.

Szczur leaves them with 1 IF backup, we have guys lIke Bryant and Schwarber who can play OF...I guess Coghlan can play IF too . Another option is Olt but don't they have to keep him up or risk losing him?

They've been playing with one IF backup for most of the season. Szczur will likely be the guy, and they'll probably re-visit demoting Herrera v. going with a 7 man pen when La Stella is ready.
