You're a grown ass man. Stop typing "prolly".

You sure about this? Really, really thinking he's in his teens.

So I think that leaves the Cubs, Twins and Giants as the only teams within 3 games of a playoff spot to not either make a move or declare themselves sellers. Will be interesting to see how the final 24 hours plays out as it seems like everyone is in a trading frenzy

Didn't the Giants stand pat last year?

They added Peavy.

6:42pm: The Brewers will receive outfield prospects Brett Phillips and Domingo Santana, right-hander Adrian Houser and lefty Josh Hader, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (on Twitter). Heyman adds that the medicals in this deal have already been approved, so Gomez’s hip is clearly not a concern for the Astros.

Phillips looks pretty good. The rest of the package isn't particularly inspiring though.

and Fiers

THANK GOD Fires is out of the division.

Is this some inside joke I'm missing, or did you really fear a guy who for all practical purposes (at least per Fangraphs) is a poorer man's Kyle Hendricks?

Kind of tongue-in-cheek, but he does have a 1.71 ERA and 39 K's (!) in 29 innings against the Cubs in his career.

my best approximation for what that might translate to for our system

- McKinney

- Alcantara / Olt?

- Edwards Jr

- something thoroughly worthless like Zastryzny

i don't really like Fiers too much, but i'd still have been pretty happy with that deal (but i can also see a team scouting Phillips's tools much more favorably than McKinney's and preferring his upside)

Nothing to do with us, but isn't it kind of strange that the Twins aren't doing anything (or at least no talk?) They're hanging onto that 2nd WC with 3-4 teams chasing them, and lord knows they have prospects to spare.

Enough prospects to get Kemp?

Certainly enough to snatch Upton or Cespedes out from under the surging White Sox.

They're 6.5 back of the second wild card with like 5 teams ahead of them.....ummm okay?

Chapman is signed through next year. The trade would be for 2016.
