hahahahaha those first three games jesus christ

I know...all this is doing is making me remember how difficult our schedule is.

At least the other 3 have to play similar schedules except we get the Bucs and Redskins

Bears 2 primetime games are the aforementioned Thanksgiving game, and a random MNF game in SD against the Chargers in week 9.

The rest of the games are at Noon, except week 3 at Seattle (3:25pm)

Of course there's always a chance they could be flexed into a prime time game, but given the first 3 games of the year, I think the Bears will be climbing out of a hole all year and won't have the record to overcome the lack of confidence the networks apparently have for the Bears.

Players rally around new coach to beat rival. Cardinals still don't have Palmer. Seattle actually sucks cuz of Super Bowl hangover. Bears start 3-0 providing plenty of false hope before 6-7 finish and missed playoffs.

That schedule is brutal. At San Diego on Monday, at St Louis 6 days later, then home vs Denver, and at GB 4 days later on Thanksgiving...

If they aren't out of it by Week 9 they soon will be.

Yeah that stretch sucks, but mainly because of the multiple short weeks.

But I don't understand the sentiment about the schedule being brutal or the first 3 games being awful. Are people forgetting the Bears won 5 games last year? Only 3 of the last 13? They could start off with the Vikings, Rams and 49ers (teams with losing records) and that would still be tough, because all those teams were BETTER than the Bears last year. Every game is going to be tough for this team. I'd rather get the toughest games out of the way early.

New coach, new defensive scheme. I would prefer the hardest games to come later in the year when we've geled more and hopefully gained some confidence.

Eh, @ Seattle is a loss no matter when you play it. Based on the last decade, Green Bay is a loss no matter when you play. I'd rather start 1-2 and have those losses out of the way than to need one of those games late in the season if the Bears are lucky enough to be competitive down the stretch.

UMFan's reasoning makes a lot more sense to me. Like a lot.

It's not like "getting the losses out of the way" changes the likelihood of winning other games or something.

I also think it's better to get good teams early, because they tend to struggle early. I don't know if it's complacency of bringing so many players back and going thru the motions early. Seattle was 3-3 last year, before winning 10 of 11 before the Superbowl. GB was 1-2, and was basically shutdown offensively by Seattle and Detroit in the first 3 weeks, before winning 12 of 14.

I don't have insider anymore but McShay has Leonard Williams falling to the Bears in his latest mock apparently.

Only if they trade up to 2.

That seems less likely than Mariota falling.

Probably one of the last few games in Qualcomm and it's on Monday night. Might just need to go to that one. I like Jack Murphy Stadium. A bit sad to see it go.

Michael C. Wright retweeted Chris Conrad

He does. Michael C. Wright added,

@mikecwright ask him if he likes cutler

So just spent 10 minutes doing a Bears mailbag in person. So strange. But funny.

Michael C. Wright ‏@mikecwright 1h1 hour ago

He hates the schedule.

Michael C. Wright ‏@mikecwright 1h1 hour ago

So Tim Duncan just has this huge game and walks of press conference and wants to talk nothing but Bears. Dead serious.

I suddenly love Tim Duncan.

Funny stuff. I quit following Michael Wright though, since he's doing NBA/Spurs coverage now instead of Bears. Fine by me, cuz he was always wrong about the Bears anyway.

Chicago Bears ‏@ChicagoBears 1m1 minute ago

#Bears have signed (the aptly-named) TE Bear Pascoe to a 1-year contract.

possibly first time I have seen such an official announcement and then went to wikipedia and it had not been updated

may speak to the quality of the player involved

As I inexplicably mentioned in the Bears thread, Cutler will talk to the media for the first time this offseason at minicamp on Tuesday.

Yes, Brandon, why would you mention that in the Bears thread?
