Kubiak would be a disaster of a hiring. Not sure if people saw what he did in Houston.

He ran a pretty good team and got the most out of a middling quarterback then all was lost when that qb turned back into a pumpkin.

They jumped from 2 wins to 9 wins this season while using Case Keenum for awhile. Kubiak is a terrible coach.

They win 12 two years ago.

So all the other seasons don't matter?

Yeah, Kubiak won quite a few games with relatively little on offense. He turned Arian Foster - a nobody out of Tennessee - into a star, won games with Matt Schaub at QB, had a middling O-Line, and pretty much no one to throw to except for Andre Johnson (save one good year from Owen Daniels).

And hopefully he'd bring in Wade Phillips who has a pretty good track record of turning around defenses quick.

Marc Trestman is a terrible coach. Kubiak is several levels above Trestman. If that's still terrible in your view, so be it.

Kubiak is a football coach that will most likely behave like a football coach.

Now, perception is reality in the NFL, one can only hope that the perception among NFL coaches is that Cutler is just a regular starting QB and not some sort of deranged coach killer.

Man, I wish Bill O'Brien had waited a year to leave PSU. I'd love him as Bears HC

He wouldnt have been a bad option. But may have shied away due to his connection with McDaniels.

Bears better get going on this GM. Guys are gonna start getting hired for head coaching jobs soon

Smaller pool than normal it seems. With Buffalo possibly promoting internally.

If it's playoff teams we won't necessarily be behind. Though with Arizona out losing out on Bowles is a definite possibility.

im fully convinced that the bears are going to [expletive] this up again in an impressive way

I don't think we'll get a repeat of this most recent mess. We may just get mediocracy again though.

The Ballard/Toub pairing wouldn't likely be a disaster, but it's the kind of underwhelming hires that would really show that little has changed.

It's what I'm expecting and I will be pretty disappointed.

Nothing says "organizational change from mediocrity" like hiring guys who were a part of the organization during their mediocrity.

Those guys were part of the organization when they were good.

@AdamSchefter

There's why the Jets and Bears have asked permission to interview Ravens OC Gary Kubiak.

I assume that's in reference to the last Ravens TD?

Good? How many rings do they have to show for it? Hell how many playoff appearances? They were not good enough then and likely would not be good enough now.

Hahahaha.

Are you drunk? Lots of angry drunks in pittstown tonight.

They don't have titles. Lots of good teams don't have titles. Mediocrity is something below what those Bears teams were. Those teams were good, not great. You know this. Although they were great one year.

My problem with Ballard/Toub would be that it feels like going back to Angelo/Smith. Which like I said, isn't a disaster. But it's just more of the same. It's not going for it...it's familiar.
