The more i think about it, the more i want Kubiak as HC.

 

He satisfies my criteria of having experience in which he didnt totally fall on his face or show up for work without pants.

 

Seems like a good leader who exerts discipline when necessary and shows appropriate amounts of emotion when the situation presents itself and not when it doesnt.

 

I really do think he's one of those guys that could become a Bill Belichik.

Decosta must have some kind of timing from Newsome on his retirement. If not then it's foolish to keep turning down great opportunities to stay below his qualifications based on something that might not happen for years.

 

Newsome is still young and publicly has not indicated a timeline that I can find.

He wouldn't be my first choice but I'd probably be ok. IIRC he was constantly in danger of losing his job for the last 4-5 years with the Texans but he did make a couple of playoffs and had a good offense

For those that want Polian he declined an offer to run the Bills and said he was going to remain on ESPN next year. Maybe he just doesn't want to join the Bills and would accept a Bears offer.

So with DeCosta out, the rest of the names are a little underwhelming. I think I like Gaine the best and really Ballard second.

 

The Marrone interest is kind of surprising... Is he a guy you'd hire before a GM? His results are underwhelming, but he's an experienced coach and clearly has interest from other teams.

He didn't spend 25 years as a college strength and conditioning coach, so it's not a replica.

The fact that he is coming from KC is bothersome. They aren't upper echelon in terms of drafting or talent evaluation. I'd rather have Gaine or Pace, on the surface.

 

As for Marrone, I still haven't heard much other than Bills fans (notorious for their meatballiness) don't like him. He served as Sean Peyton's OC from 06-08.
