Vikings asst. GM George Paton is staying in Minnesota. Will NOT interview with Bears or Jets.

That's huge for the Vikings. I was really hoping Losing him to a divisional team would have really sucked. Two years in a row he's turned down all interviews to stay asst. GM in Minnesota. At some point I'd think he'll want to leave but he's apparently content for now.

The Eagles fired Tom Gamble...wonder how that affects the Bears interest?

Huh... He was definitely one of the more interesting names.

I have no problem with them doing that.

I am hoping that Decosta gets an interview as well as Eliot Wolf.

Why Wolf, given his extremely close ties to all things Packers?

I'd take the whole damn Packers staff if I could.

Me too. That's not what I'm saying.

If Wolf would actually come to the Bears, I'd put him on the short list for sure. I'm just finding it difficult to believe that Ron Wolf's son would consider it, especially since there other opportunities right now. If he wants to come to the Bears, heck bring him in. I'll believe it when I see it.

Sounds like this was a front office power struggle.

Still get DeCosta, or whoever, and bring Gamble in as Dir of Player Personnel. Would rather have two GM worthy candidates than one. Bring on the brain trust.

DeCosta is so far over everyone that if he interviews for the job, you give it to him on the spot. I wonder if a guy like Gamble would take another position like that, although if DeCosta does eventually go back to Baltimore, Gamble could be a great "next-in-line" type of guy.

Yeah, DeCosta over Gamble, but I'd be pleased with either.

We might be able to offer a cautionary tale to the Bengals. The next guy down the line isn't always an improvement.

That said, with our organization already a smoldering ruin, I'd prefer to aim higher than Lewis.

This gentleman could be looking for a new gig if he doesn't win this weekend:

Would you have any interest?

No. He's like Lovie who is just a point A to point B coach.

What is a point A to point B coach?

A coach who can guide you to the playoffs, but won't be the one in charge when you win a Super Bowl

Best offensive skill players in the NFL + horrible offense = all Jays fault

Yeah, this is basically a job ranking that follows Billick's estimation of the QB position. He loves Matt Ryan, so Falcons #1. Pretty clear he doesn't like Jay, so the Bears are the worst job.

There's a bunch of other stuff in there, but a lot of it is just noise. Kind of a lazy article.

I don't know about Marrone. Seems like a decent coach, nothing special. Pretty sure he's going for the Jets. Bronx born. Former OL coach there. Syracuse head coach (though obviously that's closer to Buffalo).
