What...what is on the left here?

Which one is that? Does he shave with butter?

Those pics are really quite old. This is more recent.

Boers on the left, Bernstein on the right.

Christ, "really quite old" was an apt choice of words. He's clutching that railing like Death is tapping him on the shoulder.

Bernstein looks like something that escaped from a formaldehyde jar.

Hub doesn't think there's a GM/coach out there that won't keep Cutler for another year.

The only thing that worries me about Marshall's behavior is the effect it has on his teammates. Marshall was supposed to be a veteran leader on this team, and I think best case he had a neutral effect on his teammates.

-The Bears win a big game against SF, and Marshall is more focused on making a long, unecessary rant in a public press conference about something that happened 4 years ago.

-Marshall is heard yelling at the [expletive] kicker after a tough loss, and later calls out his supposed best buddy Cutler

-The most embarassing moment of the Bears season is the whole Kromer situation. Instead of defending a teammate and friend he says that he probably would have buyers remorse too. (note that what he said is perfectly defensable and was probably taken out of context, but its still an odd thing to say as a team leader)

I don't even think this latest outburst, or the Showtime show, or the challenging the fan to a fight on twitter matter, but they are examples of increasingly erratic behavior.

All that said, I think Marshall is fine next year as long as we have strong leadership.

Edit: [expletive] I missed the part where we all decided to move past this argument.

What are we using as evidence of Marshall's decline? A season where he was injured Week 1 and not close to 100% thereafter? 2015 will be his age 31 year, could be several years of good production left from a possession receiver that good. Throw in the fact that he's an elite run blocker and I see no reason to move on right now.

I'm sure that's not true, but at least it's something of a no-lose situation for the new coach. He's not going to be blamed if Cutler is [expletive] again, and then he can be cut loose and that coach's leash gets a little longer while they bring in and groom someone else.

He was? That would have been a bad idea by whoever decides such things, if so.

That was great to hear. I've long disagreed with Hub, and thought he had a lot of bitterness toward the Bears, but he's seems a lot more measured in his thoughts this season, imo.

That little segment was maybe the most I've ever agreed with sports radio.

I'm not sure why/when/how he was supposed to be any kind of leader.

There's been tons of stuff about him taking young offensive players under his wing in the offseason.

You definitely have to wade through a lot of [expletive] to get the good stuff.

Totally. And he really does look like Grimace.

What's with his FDB facial hair?

It was an outdated pic that I chose for Mojo's benefit.

I honestly don't remember any of that besides the talk of him wanting to work with Alshon.

That's still FDB facial hair. Nobody ever looks good with that [expletive] on their chin. Adding a soul patch just makes you look even more like a bad 90s something.

I believe he has housed Alshon, Wilson and Long(maybe) at his house in Miami for weeks at a time during the offseason to train.

The camp with offensive players (not just Alshon) in Florida.

I think he had a lot to do with those get togethers (also in Florida) that they had over the offseason where they worked out, had meals, went on boats and stuff.

Still, the fact that he does some leadery things doesn't mean anyone can or should be counting on him to be a team leader.

Thought you were mocking how sparse it was.

I think it's more like 50%. I think it depends largely on how much they can get away with losing for ~2 years. I think a huge portion of the NFL hates Cutler, and I think a lot of those same people would be more than happy to cut bait and really fast pace the overhaul and give them a chance to have almost an entire roster made of their own guys by 2016.

I think the smartest move is to keep him for at least a couple years and build up your depth as you look for his inevitable replacement. But I highly doubt that all NFL execs think that is the case.

I don't believe anyone outside of maybe McDaniels would move on at any cost. Of the rest, I'm sure there's a price ranging from first rounder to 4th rounder + Mettenberger as the return needed to move on this year.
