Solution- move the contiguous U.S. to two time zones.

only if arizona promises to do something stupidly different from all the rest

Nearly a given.

I wish this game kicked off an hour earlier. It's going to be a rough morning tomorrow

West coast market share>>>us getting to work in the morning.

Especially when one of the teams is on the West coast.

Even if I get out of work on time, with traffic, I'll likely miss most of the first quarter.

Where as the game will likely end after midnight EST, and I have to be up at 6am

Is someone holding a gun to your head making you stay up and watch it? DVR it if it bothers you that much, or watch the game and quit bitching. You're a grown up; figure it out.

That would mean sunrise around the winter solstice would be around 8 am in Chicago if we recentered a bit. Which I'm ok with, but a ton of people would complain about.

Well you can get rid of DST as well... I think the one proposal I read once moved Eastern towards Central and Pacific towards Mountain at one DST day and then stopping that practice as well.

DST adds nothing to the equation of time zones except for a few places populated largely by idiots who don't use it (Arizona). It saves billions of dollars in energy costs each year.

There is a good reason for time zones. It's called the curvature of the earth. The Derwoods of world geting their panties in a bunch about getting sleep is their bricks to carry.

Our school systems surely are failing our society.

Well DST certainly will effect the sunrise/sunset times throughout the year as we're bumping sunrise up/back twice a year.

This article I read proposed it to deal with productivity issues that happen day to day because cross country travel and communication actually outpaces the time zone changes, and we're often flexing to meet EST anyways and it would be more efficient to just consolidate, despite the relative issues related to the earths curvature and rotation on the axis.

It's not a once in a while oddity in regards to productivity.

I'm sure he will figure it out. He simply said he wishes it started an hour earlier.

Also, wouldn't your "DVR it if it bothers you" apply just as aptly (perhaps even better) to someone on the west coast?

Then you've got the sun setting on the East Coast by 3 pm.

Pitt just hired Arkansas OC Jim Chaney as their new HC. Hog fans are probably offering to help him pack and drive him to the airport.

He's been hired as the new OC, not HC.

He was extremely loved by players at Tennessee and was able to get the players who had quit on Dooley to play for him in the final game of the year. I think he was a bad fit philosophically as Bielema's OC. That was probably the issue there.

Why is this taking so long to review? The first replay they showed clearly showed the knee was down

Because of general suckage

Of course the record breaking Oregon offense is completely shut down while Ohio State's 3rd string QB drives down the field at ease repeatedly.
