I can't remember an offseason where the same team signed two infielders such as Ramirez and Sandavol, especially with a guy like Bogarts there. Interesting stuff.

Red Sox must have a trade coming soon, with Xander now pushed out of the IF they have Betts, Castillo, Cespedes, JBJR, Xander, Craig, and Victorino in the OF. Even if they make Xander a super sub they still have too many guys. I guess I could see something like Xander and Craig for Hamels.

Can confirm @JeffPassan #Mariners sign Kyle Seagar to 7 yr $100 M extension

I've seen a lot of places suggesting Hanley will be playing in LF and Cespedes is the one on the move, not Bogaerts.

I'm not sure how much I believe it, but I can't believe a team would sign Hanley to play SS and sign another big money guy to block him from being able to move over to 3B.

Everyone seems to be operating under the assumption that Sandoval becomes the new DH down the road, though that may just be idle speculation based on fat guy = can't field.

Can Napoli catch anymore?

He hasn't logged an inning at catcher since 2012, so I'd guess not.

I didn't realize he's put up good/consistent numbers over the last 3 years. However I do miss the days when .260/.330/.450 with 25 HR was just considered average and not a cornerstone to your lineup

Headley, Asdrubal Cabrera and Lowrie all seem like logical targets for the Dodgers with Hanley leaving. Wouldn't be surprised to see them sign 1 or more of them.

I know people talked about Bogearts and Betts, but Red Sox also have Cecchini as well. There's gotta be a trade coming for them.

There were some Cespedes to Seattle for Iwakuma rumors a week or so ago, but nothing all that solid.

In the same snippet where he reported on the Lester offer, Kaplan said that the Giants have inquired on Valbuena.

I just feel whatever Valbuena brings back just won't be worth it especially from the Giants.

The Giants haven't had any interesting trade targets since forever.

I mean, I'd take Bumgarner off their hands if they don't want him long-term.

What about a Susac for Valbuena deal? I can't really find anything on Susac's framing ability in numbers but I know everyone he's ever worked with has raved about him.

I'm still not convinced Valbuena isn't our long term answer at 3B. I think Bryant is/will be an outfielder, and who knows if Javy turns it around or if there's a trade of one of the middle infielders.

That's a lot of question marks surrounding Valbuena's future and he's already going to be 29 for all of 2015. I like him a lot and I am not sure we could ever get equal value for him but it doesn't hurt to explore the opportunities.

Is Matt Cain entirely broken? Valbuena+Wood for Cain?

I think he's broken and he's owed a lot of money going in to his age 30 season for a pitcher that has produced 1 fWAR in the last two seasons. He a lot like reverse Jaxon in that he's always outperformed his peripherals and a low home run rate playing in a pitcher friendly home park.

Cain is owed 3/67 (4/81 if his option is picked up), he better be none broken to give up real value for him.

Matt Cain

2016: $20.8M

2017: $20.8M

2018 Vesting Option: $21.8M ($7.5M buyout)

No thank you.

I'd be all for this deal.

I saw Valbuena for Grandal mentioned on PSD as a framework and don't know why I didn't think of that before.
