I know it's just one game but it's funny that Kobe sits out and the Lakers roll the best team in the league.

The Lakers post game quotes are telling

The Atlanta Hawks just won 5 consecutive games against Chicago, @Cleveland, @Houston, @Dallas, and LA Clippers, and tonight they're losing by 30 at home to Milwaukee.

The Bucks are sneaky good, kind of a classic "let down" game for Atlanta.

I've noticed that generally when there is any shot clock to game clock difference the team will just play defense. Which I don't understand. I'd fouls with 30 or less seconds. Not sure what Lin was doing there with no differential.

Isn't Reggie Jackson the best player in that deal by a lot? What is OKC's motivation?

Now they are saying Jackson isn't in the deal

Shumpert and Smith to Cavs, Waiters to OKC, not sure what Knicks are getting at this point. I think it's a salary dump for NYK though

What's the deal with this Larry Sanders guy (who I don't think I've ever heard of) from the Bucks not wanting to play anymore? Is he even a main guy for them?

He's definitely a main guy when he's right/plays, he's their starting center and a decent one. I don't have Nocode like connections, but I know someone who works for the Bucks. He said there's definitely something going on/something that's happened with him and the Bucks (basically inner fighting with FO/Players) and it will come out soon but the stuff of him not wanting to play/retire is all BS. He's a head case, but he knows he's guaranteed $44 million over the next 4 years and he's smart enough to not walk away from that or screw it up. They've been trying to trade him since 2 summers ago now, so he says.

It's going to be lovely when the Knicks strike out in free agency this summer.

I think they will almost certainly get Marc Gasol. They will probably sign Jimmy Butler to a max offer too, but the Bulls will match. Not sure what else is out there, unless you believe LeBron will opt out and go to a team that currently has the worst record in the NBA because Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony are there.

Edit: looking at the FA class there are some good targets, Aldridge, Gasol and Rondo are the "max range" unrestricted FAs available. LeBron, Love and Wade have player options, while Leonard and Butler are restricted. If you go beyond that level you get guys like Al Jefferson, Dragic, DeAndre Jordan, Milsap that might work as secondard pieces, but not really the level of players that the Knicks want to be clearing cap space for.

All of the guys with player options will opt out as the cap is going to rise significantly due to the TV deal. Could you imagine if LeBron, Love, and Wade went to the Knicks? LBJ would be murdered the first time back to Cleveland if he leaves them a 2nd time, particularly after all of the "coming home" nonsense from this past offseason.

Why would you think they will almost certainly get Gasol? Most of the speculation I've read put it as a longshot. Most have him staying in Memphis (most money/years, comfort in the city and with the system he's in, perennial contender). I've read some speculation about the Spurs if Duncan retires, which would make some sense. I just don't see him leaving a good team to go to a terrible one and take less money at the same time. I would bet they don't end up with anything better than Greg Monroe and Wesley Matthews.

That would be fantastic entertainment.

I think the Gasol-Knicks rumors are pretty much based on, that on paper he's a perfect center for the triangle offense, they have max money and a need for a big guy. Not on any real substantiated rumors/facts.

Good point on Gasol...I guess I mean that he will be the guy the Knicks go after most aggressively (assuming LeBron isn't an option). Please correct me if I'm wrong bc I don't understand the nuances of the triange, but on the surface he seems like a great fit as a big for the triangle with his passing ability and not needing to dominate the ball to be effective.

The TV money is not supposed to come until the 2016 offseason, although it's going to jump so massively that there are still lots of discussion on how to try to smooth out the jumps a little better to benefit everyone and not just the FA's that offseason, so it's possible some of that money bleeds forward into this offseason.

I'd be willing to bet that all of the guys with player options will opt out, but LeBron and Wade won't go anywhere else. They'll just get bigger deals from Cleveland and Miami.

Are people really going to be sold on playing for a mid 30's Carmelo with bad knees and no other talent around him? If Phil was actually the coach of the Knicks, that would garner more pull for FA's to go there, but he's not and he has no intention of getting behind a bench again. Although, I suppose they'll end up with a top 5 pick this upcoming offseason too but that's not exactly the most enticing situation in the world.
