Regardless, they have won a road game in 16 of the 17 series they've played under Q (only one they didn't was 09 WCF against Detroit), so I'm willing to bet we win one of the 2 games, if not game 6 to close it out.

Yeah that is nice! As for game 3's on the road, Hawks are 1-9 under Q.

A couple things to take away there. The first couple games are a feeling out process. Q wants to see how the other team adjusts then adjusts to what they're trying to do. Game 3 on the road shows the match ups that the other team wants to dictate with last change. The other team is more desperate since they are typically down 0-2 at that point. Q may not be the best in game strategist but he puts together a pretty good game plan once he knows what to expect from the other coach.

As for this game, scoring first will be really important, especially for the Wild. Their style flourishes when playing with the lead. The Hawks don't mind playing from behind but if they can score first it will force the Wild to start taking chances earlier than they ordinarily like to.

I look for the Wild to try to turn this into a track meet. Waiting for the Hawks to make mistakes hasn't worked so far (or at least didn't last night). The key to beating the Hawks this year is a relentless forecheck. The Wild have the players to do that. The question then becomes who's defense cracks first.

Looks like there was a power outage in St Paul late last night/early this morning. Ice was very slushy at the morning skate.

Any line changes in the morning skate? I shouldn't be worried about this but there's always the fear that Q will bench Teuvo. He had a great game on Sunday so hopefully he's earned some rope from Q.

No line changes(thankfully) but Versteeg did make the trip :banghead:

I'm placing no expectations on this game whatsoever. Road game 3s when up 2-0 are always completely clown shows for us.

Yeah, I agree but I do think this comes back to the UC 3-1 on Saturday, unlike last year.

is this some gamesmanship [expletive] like bill walsh taking down his own headsets so the other team would have to

You'd like to win all of them, but yeah this one will be the most difficult to win. If we win, great, if we lose just don't lose badly and give them momentum.

I'm expecting loss. Hoping for no implosion in goal causing controversy.
