Also, the Blackhawks notched 19 goals in 6 games against what was the best goalie in the league all season, and never scored fewer than 2 per game.

blues and wild should both be tough but i dont care who we play.

as a chicago fan who lives in missouri, i want the blues to lose because them losing in the first round every year is hilarious to me. on the other side, im going to be in st louis next weekend and would love to attend a game...

eh. go wild.

also yes, it worked out perfectly with the goalie situation. this team isn't going to win a cup without crawford. however, it is nice knowing that darling is capable to step in should crawford have an off night or get banged up (god forbid) or whatever.

I'm convinced Q had no desire to go back to Crawford but was forced to after the 3rd goal. This is going to end up being a good thing though. Hawks had no chance at winning a cup with Darling, Crawford has to be that guy.

the last 5 minutes last night, it was pretty clear the Blackhawks wanted Rinne out of the playoffs. they were just hammering him with shots and attempts

Plain and simple, Kaner is more important to the offense these days than ever before. Everything seems to run through him.

Hawks and Wild it is. Last year's series was pretty damn close even though I think most of us weren't super concerned. This team looks even tougher than last year.

I have no memory of last year's series.

I believe it was a relatively close, evenly played series without ever feeling that way.

Exactly. The first two games I think the Hawks had leads most of the game it the Wild came back before the Hawks won at the end. The middle 2 games in St Paul were won by the Wild, then the Hawks won a very close game 5, and then game 6 went into OT where Kane won the series with a goal

Hawks didn't deserve to win that series last year. They coasted through pretty much every game and just had enough to pull through and win the series. I was at game 5 and it was such a brutal effort despite the win. They have to play a lot better this time around.

And all of that was with the Wild losing their starting goalie, Backstrom, during warmups of game 1.

That was actually 2 years ago I believe

Oh...

Then I too have no memory of last year's series.

Last year, it was the 1st round series right? Felt like an inferior team, giving a Cup caliber team its best shot, and the Blackhawks underestimating the Wild. The teams are much closer in talent/ability this time around, but I still would rather be playing the Wild than the Blues.

Nope. Last year it was STL in the 1st round, and Minny in the 2nd. You are remembering the previous year, as I was.

Guys like Suter and Pominville seem to consistently cause us trouble, and that's before you even talk about Parise, Vanek, Dumba, Coyle, and Koivu, all of whom are very good. They are more talented than St Louis offensively, IMO.

I don't remember either of the middle games in Minnesota, but I remember the showtime goal that Kane had in Game 1 against them. Then of course the game winner in Game 6.

That's true. But the Blues had the element of distracting the Hawks by gooning it up. The Wild have fewer guys there primarly for HITS.

This series is the WCF. The Ducks are a mirage and The Flames are too young. Neither have what it takes to beat the Wild let alone the Hawks. The only question is health coming out of what ought to be a 6 or 7 game series.

Yes it is, the winner will then dispatch of the Ducks-Flames and advance to the Cup final. This will be a very tough series for the Hawks. I think Dubnyk is ready to be exposed for what he really is. Hawks just need to take care of business and win at home. I say Hawks in 7.
