Minnesota reporter says that someone at the league office told him this series could start on Wednesday.

 

That's when I was thinking. I know the first round could still be going on..I think wednesday would be the last of the potential game 7's but the NHL has routinely started the next round when the first round is still going on when necessary. Everyone seems to think Thursday is out because of the draft being in Chicago so Friday is really the only other option, unless the Bulls win tonight making Saturday a possibility.

 

If it's on Wednesday though they better announce it very very soon like within the next few hours.

But the draft runs thru Saturday, so I don't think it will have an effect. I think the league is waiting until they see if the Detroit-Tampa series goes 7. The NHL waits until all first round series end, before they start round 2. If I had to guess Hawks play Thursday.

I hope the expletive is "awesome". Because for those of us with kids, the later starts are awesome. Kids in bed by 8, clean up the house for a half hour, pour a nice tall cocktail and on with the hockey (or whatever other sport starts after 8pm).

 

Now, when it goes to multiple OTs, it's brutal. But I'll trade that chance to be able to watch the entire game without catching up on DVR/avoiding the Internet/texts.
