Screw that. I'd like my kid to be able to watch a game with me.

Fair enough, but my kids are both under 3, so I'm good. I'm sure I'll change my mind in a few years.

I mean, my son is 8yo, and he's not gonna sit through the whole game, but he'd watch bits and pieces if he could, and it'd be nice for him to see the end of one, which really only ever happens on weekend afternoon games. So it's not really just the 8:30 starts that are problematic for this.

The actual truth is I just want to get to bed at a decent time.

That's pretty sick. Could easily do Sharp's role.

This guy will be in Rockford for awhile

This guy will be in Rockford, and he is 36

So it isn't this guy?

That's the guy, why did I read that he was 36? Anyway he will be sent to Rockford for awhile. I know he won't be able to fill Sharp's shoes at least not anytime next year.

I saw somewhere on Twitter that he has a clause in his contract that lets him return to Russia if he doesn't make the Hawks next year. So maybe it's just a lottery ticket to check on in camp, but this one looks a little more legit than their other recent signings.

Edit: Here's a better article: http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/khl-standout-artemi-panarin-to-sign-with-blackhawks-but-its-nhl-or-bust/ At first it's unclear on if he just has to play a game for the Hawks next year, but later in the article it seems pretty clear he has to break camp with us or he's going back to Russia.

This is what I have been saying since the end of last season:

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey

"The fact that current Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville may not be long for Chicago, especially if they lose to Minnesota in their upcoming series, added MacLean, is a sentiment that has flown under the radar."

I think the way Q gives out ice time - especially on the 3rd line and pairing - has Bowman miffed. Stan is trying to maintain organizational depth through the draft (the right way, IMO) and Q has a very hard time trusting anyone young. Then he goes out gives up a number 1 to acquire a solid veteran who is at worst a spectacular addition to the 3rd line, and Q moves him around a ton before humiliatingly benching him during the first couple of games of the 1st Round.

Sort of reminds me of the guy who coaches another team in the same building, except that Q has two Cups, which in my mind gives him more rope, but not sure Stan feels the same. Big changes are potentially afoot this offseason (Sharp, the entire 3rd pairing, Oduya, Richards, and potentially Bickell or Shaw). Q might just excuse himself from the situation.

That would be annoying. I mean Q has a lot of quirks and they frustrate the hell out of me, and the Hawks are super talented so its hard to really judge how much value (at least in my eyes) the coach brings to the organization, but the guys results are up there with the best coaches in the game. I understand the GM and coach having differences but sometimes you have to live with that and work with it.

I don't know it would just be frustrating if Chicago got rid of Thibs and Q in the same offseason, both very good coaches with visible flaws but overall its hard to see them being better off without.

People continue to act like 2015 will be bad as Summer 2010. This article makes it seem worse than it is. The entire 3rd pairing? Plus Bickell or Shaw? Those guys are the third line. Why mention them twice to get a point across?

by the way, what article is being referenced? That is only a link to the general hockey page on sportsnet.ca, I do not see anything about blackhawks upheaval.

You're right. Those are Ryno's comments, I just see all this doom and gloom about this summer from all over the place. It will not be as bad as people think.

Q isn't getting fired for not playing Vermette. That's just silly. Anyone saying that Q will get fired if they lose to the Wild is an idiot.

Q is not going to retire until he passes Al Arbor for 2nd all time wins. He needs probably one more season to do that.

Yeah...not sure I get where this is coming from. Q can be annoying at times with not playing kids and some of his line combinations, but he's a damn good coach.

I doubt he's retiring anytime soon either.

Allow me to expand and/or clarify what I thought was clear:

- I didn't say Q is getting fired because he didn't play Vermette. There's more to it than that. My guess is that it frustrates Bowman that he spent a 1st Rnd pick plus Dahlback to get Vermette and Q benched him in the playoffs. I'd also guess that Q's consistent and stubborn refusal to utilize the organization's young depth also frustrates Bowman.

- Depending on the cap number, Sharp could very well be traded and Oduya is unlikely to be retained.

- The third pairing has stunk and needs to be addressed.

- EDIT: His line combos leave me completely perplexed much of the time. Why is Kane on a line with Versteeg, for example? It took him 4 games in the Preds series to realize thats a very bad idea.

- Bickell and Shaw have value as trade bait, but I agree its not as likely they will be moved. I'd prefer not to lose either of them.

Excellent period. All this talk about their goalie and we put 3

By them.

By the way Kane is expected to be back in a couple of weeks :)

Haha, yeah it will be great to have him back.

Dubnyk has been over his head and ready for a fall. We seem ready to throw him off a bridge.

it makes the play of Rinne that much more eye-popping. and we kicked his ass.
