is Scott Darling the new Dominik Hasek?

Please stop. It's great that he's playing well and the Hawks are winning but he's a 26 year old rookie that has played in every hockey league in North America. He's closer to the hockey version of Bryan Lahair than he is the new Domink Hasek. Enjoy the ride while it lasts.

I passed out during the beginning of OT, woke up at the end of the second OT, briefly saw "2-2", and thought that we lost and it was a reference to the status of the series over all. Glad I had that wrong.

Went to the game last night, last minute as a friend had an extra ticket in 334. As was said 8:30 starts are fucked up for two central time zone teams. Probably by the 2nd OT intermission about 25% of the UC had already left. I get it being a Tuesday night. I heard that had the game made it to 4th OT the game would have been suspended due to it being a weeknight and against some city law??? Not sure how true that was but it was from a security guy. I'm glad they won, got home at 2:30 asleep at 3 and up at 6:45.

Remember what I said yesterday about getting Versteeg off of Kane's line? Looks like other's noticed that too; from Committed Indian:

After two periods, and I’d like to think after Kane threatened Versteeg’s life in the dressing room at intermission, Q finally punted KRS-23 off the 2nd line and replaced him with Bickell. For the first two periods Kane and Richards were each -4 in Corsi. In the 3rd alone they were each +3. Not that Bickell is the hero we want, but he might be the hero we need. That line has been screaming out for someone to open a little space and at least occupy defenders at the net, which Bickell knows how to do. No coincidence the winner came from Bickell heading to the net, retrieving the puck, occupying a d-man, allowing Kane time to spin around the net to find Seabrook. This isn’t [expletive] rocket science, a sentence I’ve said no less than 873 times this series.

Also this from the same site, which I am not as sure about:

-I feel like a team bigger than the Preds is going to make Scott Darling pay for the rebounds he leaves lying around, but maybe not if the Hawks are as concentrated as collapsing around him as they’ve been the past two games. At least they know what they have to do.

Seems to me that Darling directs his rebounds into low-scoring areas for the most part. Sure there have been several in front of the net, but if you face 50 shots that's bound to happen.

Versteeg should be in the press box. I would like to see Teuvo back in the lineup.

They mentioned that too. Put Teuvo on the Sharp line.

He would be perfect with Sharp.

He's a douche, but Rosenbloom said the same thing this morning, sub in TT for Versteeg.

He also made a point that crossed my mind last night. Roz didn't look too bad.

I'm hitting the wall, guys.

Me too, hopefully something like a 4-1 Hawks win tomorrow with the game ending with handshakes around 11:10pm

That was an easy decision. It will take a meltdown for him to give up the net in this series.

And if they close it out tomorrow and he's not a problem, I don't see why they would make a change in the next series.

Speaking of potential opponents, I would really like it if the Wild won again tonight.

I don't see how Q could go away from Darling at this point as long as he's giving up 2 or fewer goals per game.

Please get Versteeg out of the lineup immediately. He's awful.

Also I feel like Darling will eventually get solved in the playoffs and it will likely be a meltdown. How is it that he's bounced from all these leagues and is looking this good in the playoffs?

It's actually happened several times this year alone, particularly in Ottawa and Detroit. If Darling plays half as well as Hammond has, we're winning the Cup.

After that long game, I would have thought they'd go back to Crawford for the next one.

All you midwesterners must be struggling today. I was tired watching that game and it was two hours earlier for me.

he's only 26 and goalies routinely come out of nowhere to look for for both short and long durations of time

Is there a playoff comp to him though?
