Hell yeah they are! My nephew is the SIU TE/H-back. #4. Soon to be 3-time FCS All-American.

You should go, you can get 50 yard line seats right behind the SIU bench for $30-$40.

He's awesome. He really should be drafted after this year.

I think we'll give Purdue a game. Find a way to beat them and a playoff spot is a near lock.

I'm in Pittsburgh. Was planning on making a trip out, but am not. They'll be in Youngstown next month. I do have about 938 family members that will be there, though. My sister is a Purdue alum.

Yeah hoping for a big game on B1G network. That would certainly help his draft stock along with a combine invite and a good showing. SIU almost and maybe should have beaten Illinois last year.

Yep, I went to that game last year. Would've been nice if they started that game off a little bit better. I think this Purdue team is about the same as last year's Illinois team and SIU's squad is a little bit better this year as opposed to last year.

I'm considering going on Saturday, but I'd have to leave at around 6:30 in the morning to make it out there in time for kickoff.

Watching the SEC network has really given depth to my respect and admiration for Kevin Sumlin. He seems like a genius and an awesome guy. Texas is so stupid for not making him an offer that he couldn't refuse. A&M is going to be a consistent long term power. Te balance of power may have switched to A&M. Now Texas is coached by a jackass who elected to kickoff both halves and A&M has a dynamic genius running the program. Texas should have signs Sumlin to a 10 year 100mln contract

Among the talking heads locally here, it's said that the post-Lane Kiffin hire in Tennessee came down to Sumlin and Dooley and AD Mike Hamilton chose Dooley even though Sumlin wanted the job. I don't remember even a mention of Sumlin being a target at the time, but if Hamilton passed on Sumlin for Dooley, it's one of the worst decisions ever made at UT.

At this point I'm ready to call Sumlin the best coach in the FBS. His offense, under a first time starter (after losing arguably 2 of the 5 best offensive players in the nation to the draft) slaughtered USC at the willy b (where they hadn't lost in many years) putting up 52 points in the process.

This is after he broke the record books with manziel and after he broke the record books with Keenum. I am impressed. And I appreciate that he's not one of this breed of Nuevo successful douchebag couches who run up and down the sidelines like pyschos going crazy after every play like dabo swinney.

Let's not get crazy here. He may be top 10, but could be fourth in his own division after Saban, Miles, and Malzahn. He was 4-4 in conference last year. Wait until there's at least a BCS bowl before you erect the statue.

That being said, Purdue wishes every day for a time machine to hire this guy several years back. Gotta suck watching an alum dominate like this and know you probably won't ever be able to hire him.

The best coach is Nick Saban and it's really not close to the 2nd best.

I'll be there tailgating at about 10 after breakfast club. I would actually be shocked if Purdue wins.

No [expletive] but Purdue sucks when it comes to figure out who to hire, the fact they REALLY don't want to shell out $$$ to get a "trendy/well known" coach or recruiting, and honestly don't care as much about being great in sports.

He had 6 losses in 2 years with a historically good QB, and that's with them being probably the worst offender when it comes to terrible non-con scheduling. Sumlin is a fine coach and may prove even more over the coming years, but let's not say anything silly.

They did cough up the money for Painter but yeah Burke doesn't really seem to care if we compete for anything in Football. We're only good when we get a Cradle QB.

They don't win either of the Ole Miss games the past two years without JFF, they don't beat Bama in 2012 without him, they don't beat LA Tech in 2012 without him, don't beat Duke last year without him, probably don't beat Miss St. last year without him either. Their 10-2 regular season record in 2012 would have been 7-5 without Manziel.

Jameis Winston suspended 1st half vs Clemson for "obscenities on the student union."

Noooo. I was waiting to get Clemson +21.5. It was 21 on Monday and I was waiting for the big run on FSU to add the hook.

I wonder what he did.

Let me get this straight the PC police applaud Michael Sam for being Gay but we shame James Winston for talking openley about his sexuality?
