Cubs placed RHP Edwin Jackson on the 15-day disabled list with a right lat strain.

Jackson was hammered for seven earned runs in just 2 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Giants, dropping him to 6-14 on the year with a 6.09 ERA. He is owed $22 million over the next two seasons. This is a mess.

THANKS FOR RUBBING IT IN ROTOWORLD WE HAD NO IDEA

$22M over two seasons isn't really a big deal lol

Yes he's hurt. That's why he's pitching so bad. Somehow we just discovered it. Once he's healthy in like a week he will pitch great. Remember teams only 10 more days left to add a Jaxon to aid your playoff push!

So Straily tonight at Iowa and then in Cincy Tuesday after the off day, replacing Rosscup? Or do they give that assignment to Doubront if tonight goes well?

Was hoping they'd give Jacson's spot to Turner.

Yeah, this was my hope as well.

Jeez I forgot all about Turner. Yeah that works. Then Doubront replaces Rosscup when he's legally obligated to, and after that point we're to September and can see how they plan to manage 7 SP.

IMHO, Hendricks, Turner, Wada, and Doubront should be priorities. Arrieta or Wood should be given September off. Arrieta has nothing left to prove this season and Wood is what he is.

Why are you artificially limiting Arrieta and Wood's innings?

Presumably so we can get Dallas Beeler into that 5th starter spot.

Jaxon will probably not be going to Iowa, even on rehab. Their season is too close to the end. But it does appear to be a "DL" stint.

I'm thinking Ethier, with the Dodgers kicking in at least half the difference may be our best shot to rid ourselves of him.

I'm really hoping for Swisher, instead.

Didn't he just have to have knee surgery? He may not be able to play anything other than 1B anymore
