Least Favorite would be a mix of Candy Maldanado, Rey Sanchez, Neifi Perez, and Manny Alexander.

Pretty much anyone that played 3B between Madlock and Aramis. Or played SS between Dunston and Castro will do well on a hate poll. I even hated Gutierrez and he was decent for a year.

Far too irrelevant and forgettable to be hateable for me.

There's very few players I've come to really, really dislike, and even then it's mostly because of what happened after they were on the Cubs or outside of the game, Sandberg and Grace being the two prime examples.

Other than that...yeah, Theriot. THAT guy was easy to despise. He was like everything you can't stand about Ryan Braun magnified by a hundred, but minus any of the talent.

i'm finding it hard to think of anyone other than theriot. his abysmal play and the cub fan meatballery was bad enough. but when he went over to the cardinals and complained about jim hendry ruining the clubhouse by getting rid of all the white guys, that was the icing on the cake

Rey Ordonez was here for like 2 weeks, was awful and I recall him being a huge dick when he finally got like his one hit. [expletive] him.

Holy [expletive], he was here for damn near 2 months.

Game winning HR in a rain shortened game. It was awesome.

Hundley also had a 2HR game vs. the Sox, but he HAS to be the most hated Cub ever, right?

He's up there. Part of it for me is that the only Cubs gear I would see were THE RIOT shirts because he was a former LSU guy. God I hate LSU fans.

I'd hope/think Ron Cey would be an exception to that. He's one of my favorite players as he had just started playing for the Cubs when I first started watching them. He had a couple of decent years iirc and he'd go on a tear for month or so every year! He had a great inside the park home run too. He and Bill Buckner were early favorites.

Nailed it

Meh. I hated Dusty, but I'm over it. He won 6 playoff games with the Cubs--more than the rest of the managers since 1945 COMBINED. And, let's be honest, Wood and Prior probably get hurt with or without his pushing, especially Wood who was hurt before and hurt after.

Besides facing Mike Lowell over Lenny Harris, not visiting Prior on the mound, and forcing LaTroy Hawkins to close (which was a Hendry failure as much as Dusty), he really wasn't that bad.

ABSURD

Dusty never won a game. Hendry put together a pretty good ballclub and handed the keys to the worst possible manager. It was a disaster that was bound to happen.

Do you also hate Lou Piniella?

What about least favorite Cub of all time?

Todd Hundley?

Larry Bowa?

Jeff Blauser?

Neifi Perez?

Paul Rueschel?

Steve Stone?

someone else?

Alex Gonzalez, learn how to field a routine GB

Yep. And it's not even close.

Not sure why I just watched the 8th inning of that game again. I want to die.

I hated Jeff Blauser for that contract. Was it Ed Lynch that signed him? A 30-something middle infielder coming off a career year and they quoted his numbers at Wrigley in his career, ignoring that he was playing a crappy Cubs team in those games, and they were meaningless.
