From a team perspective, that's too bad if they wouldn't be considered. That team is absolutely stacked in that scenario. They would be better than any of the Miami versions we've seen over the last four years. They would be extremely talented, fit very well, and be incredibly deep as well.

 

Of course, I could see them passing because of ownership concerns. That team might end up being one of the more expensive ones in basketball history to keep together, and their owner sold draft picks in the past to save cash.

Ok so now the nets are gonna hire a coach from overseas. So that's the second overseas coach and Derek Fisher and the kid from Butler and Kerr and Kidd taking a different coaching job. How must these long time NBA assistants feel now that being a top NBA assistant is no longer the career stepping stone to being an NBA head coach. Now being a [expletive] former point guard or studio analyst is the best way.

That's not a pay cut, he got the max he could get.

It also doesn't start til next year, Kyrie's locked at ~7 million this year. So no real impact on LeBron pursuit. The Cavs have a lot of pretty easily traded salary, so affording LeBron is not the primary concern.

Oh. Why can't he get the same team max that melo can get from New York? Service time thing?

Yeah, more or less. And what TT said, the big money jump doesn't start until next year. He's still on his rookie deal this year so it doesn't affect them either way in their pursuit of LBJ this offseason.

Varejao would be a likely cap casualty in that scenario(or at least one of him and Thompson), but yeah, that's the dream.

With a healthy varejao, Thompson and waiters. That's the best team in the league easily.

 

Bron, Kyrie, Wiggins, Thompson and Waiters? Uhhhhhh no.
