This is kind of a random thought, but I really wonder what offers people are giving for Bryant.

No one could be offering what I'd want for him right now.

If the names weren't Stanton or Trout, I'd hang up too.

No, not really. Remember Koyie Hill?

Hill was (is?) a better hitter (which is saying something) and by all accounts a better defensive Catcher than Eli [expletive] whiteside. That's the point. For Christ's sake John Baker is our offensive catcher now!

Why is he in the system? I don't see what he brings to this organization. There have to have been better options to stash away at AAA.

Anyway, I caught bits and pieces of this game and as someone else said earlier - this is by FAR my favorite cubs team with a bad record in recent memory.

Buxton and Sano? Do you blink?

There is no way in heck I am risking the winning streak by taking the game thread tomorrow. Jersey needs to make it.

I'm going to the game tomorrow. The Cubs have lost the last 5 times I've gone and haven't scored in the last 2. That streak is toast no matter who makes the thread.

Andy, just give me your tickets. I've gone to the last three games and am 5-1 in my last 6. You go to a bar and enjoy another Cubs victory.

The best 7th inning stretch singer/interview that I can remember. Lenny Merullo from the 1945 Cubs was fantanastic. 97 years old and sharp as a tack with great stories about the Cubs and Wrigley back then. JD and Len were in awe and loving every minute. At one point JD said "I want to hang out with you Lenny".

I have long felt they should just do away with the 7th inning stretch, but I agree, yesterdays was enjoyable. I think if they found cool guys like that and kept it as a Saturday or Sunday only thing, I could get behind that.
