    Ok, now I'm completely on board with this.

    So for the last several years, the World Series winner has worn gold-trimmed uniforms and hats to open the next season, and also added a "World Series Champions" sleeve patch for the entire following season. Wonder what the Cubs have in mind. I'm also hoping they schedule the ring ceremony for sometime during the first home series against STL. Just a few small things to look forward to!

    Champs! Had to get in on this thread before page 108! I wanted a championship for the Cubs more than any team I root for in any sport. That strange "Cubs are actually champs!" feeling is slowly sinking in and I've been weirdly emotional the last 48 hours! Both my parents and all extended family are from Northern Illinois and have cheered the Cubs for generations. I really wish my 94 year old grandmothers would've been alive for this, but neither quite made it. One, the daughter of a major-leaguer herself, never missed a game and took me to my first ever Cubs game at Wrigley in 1991. This site is wonderful because it keeps me entertained and connected to all of you great Cubs fans while living abroad. Thanks Tim! Thanks everyone! GO CUBS! \:D/
