Despite being a total kickass dude, Samardzija has no wins, the ultimate sign of a pitcher's effectiveness.

On the other team is a former Cubs legend with a real girls name. He has an era of nearly 5 and a WILL TO WIN OF A LOT CAUSE HE HAS A NEARLY UNFATHOMABLE 3 WINS.

I probably won't watch this, cause I'll be drunk and full of hamburgers and hot dogs, but if you watch it, you could see history. Every Samardzija start from here forward could theoretically be his last loss in a Cubs uniform.

I will be at this game as well as Wednesday's. Looking forward to the pen blowing another game for Shark as well as Edwin getting lit up.

If the Cubs could only bat for one inning but were allowed 27 outs in that one inning, how many runs do you think they'd score for Samardzija?

And they start ever AB with a 2-0 count

That's Lost, right?

Fun fact: I've never watched an episode.

Was my favorite show ever, even with the ending being awful, until Thrones.

Fun fact: There have only been 3 pitching seasons in major league history where the pitcher has posted a sub-.400 winning percentage, saved at least 12 runs, and led his league in ERA+. Samardzija's 2014 already counts, having saved 15 runs already up to today. The other two were Nolan Ryan's 1987 and Joe Magrane's 1988.

Am I the only one that doesn't get the Petit = former cubs legend?

Nope. Trying to puzzle it together myself. Mistaken identity with another pitcher? Or he could be talking about Angel Pagan?

Running with Lake at the plate, running on the first pitch, running on the 2nd batter of the game after a single, I don't get it

Depends on what you believe the Cubs run environment is, I guess. It was a straight steal attempt. I'm not sure how good Petit is at holding runners, but Bonifacio must have thought he had a good read.

I'd like to think that the Cubs have a good enough chance to score in a day game against a backup SP that it wouldn't be necessary at that point.

Hunter Pence is an affront to my baseball senses.

That was crushed.

Also, give Shark whatever the hell he wants. He's damn good.

The thing he wants the most is to get the [expletive] off this team.

Yeah, it's not even a matter of money anymore. He wants out and it's clear.
