That would force the Bulls to amnesty Boozer and then tie up more than half of their cap space for three days while Houston decides. That might be worth it for a chance to get Parsons, but it's not without risk for the Bulls as well.

What are the negatives for recruiting players to come play with you? There are none. It can't hurt one bit to go out and meet with somebody to say that you should come to this team.

 

His unwillingness (and open unwillingness) to recruit is peculiar, to say the least.

 

Liking the Cubs Bulls and Packers is unacceptable and stupid.

True, but my guess is that before they sent in the official offer sheet they would know where they stand with Melo (at least unofficially).

 

EDIT: Parsons and McDermott on the same team would be interesting.

That's walking a fine line, sure offer $8-9 mil a year and let them match. Either they match and it probably makes it impossible for them to get Melo, or they don't and you get Parsons on a good deal. But I'd be careful offering the $12-13+ mil a year that is probably more in line with offers he'll get. I personally don't think he's worth it at that point and if you offer that and the Rockets don't match I think that's too much money to throw at a complimentary piece.

Parsons is decent but won't produce with us to the level that would justify the money needed to sign him. He's in a perfect place for his skills. We have no interior scoring, only one guy with any skill with the ball and we play at a high school speed per possession. Parson gets a lot of free buckets in houston that he would need to earn in chicago.

 

I heard on radio that pierce is now an option and I would love that for a year. He can still creat on offense with the ball and we don't need to mortgage the franchise and can still bring in a few more upgrades
