And Depaul beats a ranked team (Seton Hall) on the freaking road. First win over a ranked team in 7 years and first road win over a ranked team in 10 years.

 

Really wish they didn't lose to Loyola Marymount, Lehigh, Illinois State and Ohio

 

Now 5-2 and tied for first in the Big East. Wtf

 

That's awesome for DePaul. It would be nice to see them become decent.

IU spanks Maryland to move into a tie with Wisconsin for the conference lead. Maybe Crean is better off with no player over 6'7? :clapping:

 

Maybe, because he can't call a halfcourt play to save his life. The best thing about the construction of this IU team is they can have nights like this where every shot falls. Yogi was hitting step back 3s not even squared to the basket for God's sake! But the downside is they can also have games like Michigan St. where they shoot 17-60 from the field and 5-24 from 3 and get doubled up on rebounds.

 

But consider me very surprised. 15-4. 5-1 is better than I expected going into the season, and especially after Eastern Washington.

Yeah, they basically had a lost 2 weeks where they lost 6 in a row and completely lost focus/confidence. Other than that, they are 11-3. WTF?

 

They would have to keep this pace up all of conference season to even be considered for the NCAA, but they are in legit NIT range at this point, which is fun. If the Illini don't make the NCAA, I could see the NIT matching them up in a first round game to try and boost interest. Illinois would proceed to murder DePaul, but it would be cool for them to play for the first time in 60 years.

It would certainly be a tough game, but to be considered for the NIT they probably have to finish at least 1 game over .500 for the season, so they'd have to go at least 5-6 in their remaining games plus win at least 1 BE Tournament game. That would put them at 17-16 (if they lost the second tourney game) and 10-8 in the Big East regular season with wins over Stanford, Xavier, St. Johns, Seton Hall, and at least 3 of Nova, Butler, Georgetown, St. Johns again, Seton Hall again, Xavier again, Providence (2 chances).

oh there is no conference race. Kansas already did 1 thing iowa st didn't (win at Baylor) and 1 thing iowa st won't (win at Texas). And I'm kinda maybe guessing kansas doesn't lose at TT. that's a 3 game swing. it's done.

 

on the bright (?) side lololololololloololololol at niang's chances of leaving for the nba after this season.

though hopefully this game relegates dejean-jones to 8th man status and ends up being a net positive in the long run.

Mizzou are gutless choking dogs. Only damn game I cared about this year.

Choke? Meh, Arkansas was the better team. Mizzou was lucky to be in the game. They were on the verge of being blown out like 5 times.
