I think MSU settled for way too many 3s. The free throw advantage for UConn was large and earned. It is not that MSU is not a good 3 point shooting team, but seriously you have to try to get in the lane sometimes.

Seriously, that wasn't a foul on that three attempt. What a farce

wtf are you talking about. he clearly hit his arm

No more than most three point attempts. Just seemed like less than most foul calls on threes

that guy shot it 14 feet on a three-point try because he's just that weak

Just basing this on the one replay I saw. Didn't seem like the contact was enough to alter the shot, but whatever...MSU [expletive] the bed down the stretch and didn't deserve to win

Why didn't Michigan call time out when they inbounded the ball at halfcourt?

Great game. I know they are super talented but you have to give Kentucky credit. They have really improved here late in the season and have beaten 3 really good teams. They have all been close games also and Kentucky has just been better at the end.

Yeah, they are definitely clicking at the right time. Kudos to them and calipari. And as much as I hated watching UK win, it was sorta fun watching michigan on the business end of a last second three this year.

Yeah. Understand that from a Kansas fan. I cheer for the B1G in the tourney, so I was hoping for Michigan. I have to admit though after MSU lost, I wasn't in the mood from hearing from Michigan fans if they won.

Kentucky actually made as many 3s as Michigan did with several less shots

Michigan has done two things excellent all year, winning close games and out shooting their weaknesses in rebounding and defense.

Welp, UM got a taste of their own medicine as they finally lost a close game and they lost because of lights out 3 point shooting.

Obviously it was a bit heartbreaking but I'm over it already. Great season that exceeded all my expectations after McGary was lost. Was looking forward to Bucky though. Oh well.

Not sure about that. Michigan was with Kentucky all game. Louisville was close also. Also giving Bo Ryan a week to prepare and I am sure they will give Kentucky all they want and probably more

Who on Michigan is looking to come back? MSU may not even make the tourney next season.

(To newusername)UM Hoops posted a story full of quotes from Glenn and it made it pretty apparent that he's not coming back. He was saying stuff about how he questioned his decision to come back because he thought he was promised that he'd play the 3 and allowed to show off his abilities there, then Mitch went down and he was a 4 again. Then he said something about how he's glad UM was making a tourney run so he could give back to the fans "one more time". He's going pro.

Nik would be stupid not to go pro as a projected mid-1st. Especially after seeing how McGary and Robinsons stock dropped after returning. He's gone.

That leaves Mitch. I think he's gone. Since he played prep ball he's the age of a Junior this year. Will be 23 as a rookie. I can't see how another year helps his draft stock at all. Especially if he doesn't come back and dominate. It's too risky. Obviously a risk going pro after basically missing basically the entire season and being a big man with back issues but I think he's gone.

Michigan has a top 40 wing coming in and redshirted a top 80 player this year (Donnal) so I'm hoping a core of Walton, Levert, Irvin, Chatman and Donnal is good enough to make the tourney. I think it is, especially with Beilein but we will see.

MSU is gonna have a down year next year but I think they make the tourney.

You're right. However, the Shockers got Kentucky at full strength, while Louisville and Michigan didn't. Also, both the Shockers and Kentucky played at the absolutely highest level and both shot lights out against each other. Not taking anything away from Louisville or Michigan, I just think that the level that the Shockers played at to lose by 2 to Kentucky would have beat both Louisville and Michigan.

Yeah, I don't think the "real" national championship was between an underseeded 8 and an overseeded 1

I'm gonna go a different direction on Kentucky's play of late, probably because I absolutely hate Calipari. They've no doubt played at an extremely high level the last 2 weeks, but why couldn't he get them to play this hard all season? I mean, I can understand having some inconsistency with that many freshman, but I don't think they were really interested in putting forth a whole lot of effort until recently and I think Calipari's frustration throughout the season bears that out. That team he had 2 years ago with unibrow got it, but that was probably because they had some upper class guys setting the tone on what was expected day in and day out. It would have been interesting to see what they could have done with this kind of effort all year.

Of course he was frustrated, they didn't have any rhythm on offense. They were trying to run an offense basically set-up for a one on one battle and hope to draw a double team. It took them forever to buy into it. They were probably overrated at the beginning of the year, they're not as talented as the Wall/Cousins class or the Davis/Teague/Lamb/MKG class. To get this class into the FF is the job he's done since getting to UK.

The 11-12 class had Miller, Hood and Vargas as the upperclassmen with Miller being the only one with any leadership qualities. Davis and Kidd-Gilchrist were that way from the beginning.
