Yeah, I enjoyed watching the game (outside of Pete Carroll being happy) and it's the last time we'll see meaningful football till late August.

What awesome plays? Sloppy TAINTS and unforced safeties ended the game before it began.

Yeah, if I knew nothing about the two teams, or the players on them, I would have guessed Denver was the young inexperienced squad.

Seriously terrible football game. Only one team showed up. Arguably the league's biggest star crapped the bed in front of the world.

Manning's total quarterback rating of 24.4 was his lowest of the season and the worst in a Super Bowl since Rex Grossman's 7.1 in 2006.

To see how badly Manning played last night and know that Rex's performance was significantly worse than that is nauseating.

I remember when the Bears led that game 7-0 and had the ball at midfield before the offense ever saw the field.

That was the last good feeling I had about the game.

I still had a pretty good field when Thomas Jones ran the Bears down the field and Rex found Moose in the end zone for the 8 point lead. After that, the Bears forced a punt and drove the ball to midfield and then the real back breaker occurred when Benson fumbled it away. Ugh.

Even after that, I still felt good even though the Colts had taken a 19-14 lead in the 3rd quarter. The Bears had a 2nd and 1 from the Colts 45 and were moving the ball well on the drive. Rex holds onto the ball way too long and takes a sack, then fumbles the snap on the next play and before you know it, its 4th down from the Bears 33. Ugh.

But of course despite all that, the Bears were only down 5 with 12 minutes left in the 4th and starting to get some momentum on a drive, having gotten it to their 40 when Rex throws a terrible ball that is picked for a TD. Game over. Ugh.

the ubiquity of Jaylen/Jalen/Jaylon/etc. is pretty crazy to think about; Jalen Rose's mother named him after his father (James) & his uncle (Leonard) and a generation later it's one of the most popular names around...to think, if he wasn't good at basketball/awesome at life millions of kids would have different names

I think Jaden is a much more popular recent name.

Does it? There's a humongous amount of context missing. Having a bunch of texts talking about partying and Incognito trying to be cool doesn't mean there wasn't tons of fucked up [expletive] happening.

That, or now it sounds like they were having a beefy love affair.

Not sure what I was looking for, through 8 pages, I'm disappointed.

I gave up after 3. But even with all the pages of texts that still not the full findings presumably, so might as well wait for the official report before I flip my thoughts one way or the other.

The only stuff worth reading are the texts at the very end after Martin left the team (~10/31/13). The rest of it is bro's talking about going out and getting laid, even all the way up until a day or two before he left.

The texts definitely paint Incognito in a completely different light although I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

My takeaway is that I gave Martin too much the benefit of the doubt. He comes off as your typical meathead doof jock in he text exchanges. Coming in with a preconceived notion of who each of them were I was reading them as Martin being passive in the conversations where he'd just go along with whatever incognito said, but the further I got the more I thought he wasn't much different than incognito

I don't think Incognito was some kind of 24/7 monster; I'm sure there were tons of instances were he was trying to be the cool mentor/teammate and plenty of instances of Martin trying to fit in and get along with his teammates, as the texts show. But in no way do they show the entire picture, and the actions (or inactions) of the Dolphins over the course these seem to show there's plenty of fire to go along with the smoke. It's kind of ridiculous looking at the comments of those articles how it seems like a good 95% of the people commenting on the story thinks the texts completely vindicate Incognito and the Dolphins and totally destroy Martin.
