It didn't really make a ton of sense to go offense early this yeat though. Would have been interesting had Ebron or Lewan been on the board or Watkins was smoking crack at the combine and fell to 14. But defensive players were probably BPA every time the Bears picked in the first 3 rounds.

I wouldn't have minded one bit if they drafted a solid offensive guy in the 2nd round instead of Ferguson. They would still have had Sutton in the 3rd.

If anyone wants to see a young Marty B on Hard Knocks, the 08 Cowboys Hard Knocks is on NFLN.

Marshall still has never played in a playoff game. He's going to go straight HAM when he gets there. I want a Super bowl for him and Jay more than anyone. Marshall is deserving. Cutler can shut the haters up.

Eli and Flacco haven't shut me up one bit.

Yeah there is probably nothing I want more in sports than to see Cutler hoisting the trophy and then handing it to Marshall.

Rizzo + Castro hoisting a WS trophy together.

And I want the Beatles to get back together but we're talking realistic things here.

While I suppose just about all of me wants a Cubs WS more than a Bears SB, I don't think I'd have the same reaction from Castro and Rizzo. I'm just not as attached to those players. Maybe that would change if they went on a run, but I didn't really gravitate toward any one player in 98, 03, or 08. I dunno, baseball players definitely keep to themselves more, which makes it harder.

Anyways, Marshall really gets it. Jay and him winning a SB together would be the greatest, most epic thing I've ever witnessed when it comes to my sports teams.

Give it a little time. Kerry Wood is the guy I really wanted to see get a ring, but the longer some of these guys are here, the better the chances the same kind of attachment forms.

As far as the Bears go, it would be awesome to see them win another SB (I was too young to appreciate 1985 in any significant way), but Cutler takes so much [expletive] that it would be hugely gratifying to see him get a SB win just to spite the haters. It'd be satisfying on multiple levels.

But I would be fine with the NFL folding tomorrow if it guaranteed a Cubs WS win. For me, no other possible achievement for any of my favorite teams, singularly or even combined, could even approach the significance of a Cubs World Series win. It is the holy grail of my sports world.

Same for me.

it would be one of the biggest stories in the history of sports, pretty much. the cubs in the world series guarantees the most watched series ever.

to this day it still amazes me how 03 went from a likely cubs/red sox world series to yankees/marlins

that's just unbelievable

that's going from the best match up imaginable to one in the running for the worst.

And then the Red Sox got theirs. Then the White Sox got theirs. Then the Cardinals got two they didn't even need.

My priority list is Cubs, UNC, Bears, Bulls. Nothing else matters for me.

However, if you play the "what would you watch if all were in the championship at the same time" game......I have a very hard time not picking the Bulls, if Mike is playing. Him being ridiculously great, coupled with the nerves going on in a Cubs WS.

Strange though, I kind of agreed on the Cutler/Marshall over Starlin/Rizzo thing. But obviously a Cubs championship is the grail. Sports fandom for me is complete with one.

For a Cubs WS win?

I'd probably trade 5 of the 6 Bulls championships.

Can't do it. Having Jordan's legacy and being able to say that was my team is just too awesome.

Mike was/is/always will be my favorite athlete of all time. Cubs over a non-Mike led team? Absolutely, no questions asked. Mike just complicates it for me.

Moving forward, nothing's remotely close to a Cubs WS though.

I can nearly guarantee I will cry like a baby when/if the Cubs finally win one. And yes, I want that far more than any other of my teams to win a championship and I don't think it's particularly close.

that commercial for the show, while cheesy as hell, gives me goosebumps.

and flashbacks to 03
