BOOM.. . JAY 7 for 126.. . Congrats now let's go win. #beardown

Yeah let's go win...in like 9 freaking months ugh. NFL offseasons are so long.

and ESPN will cover every single day of it

God, depressing. Bears have a lot of work to do though, so it will at least be a very interesting period.

Apparently the guaranteed numbers there weren't right...they're parsed to "fully guaranteed" or something. Rodgers has $62.5 guaranteed. Cutler is more like #7 in guaranteed money.

This thread contains the only Bears fans in the continental United States that like this deal.

-What has he done to earn this?

-Best move Green Bay will make all offseason

-He doesn't deserve Manning, Brady, Brees money

Bears fans are stupid.

Ugh, McNeil on the radio with his "signature games" diatribe too. Makes me want to punch him in the damn face.

At least he did say that he wanted the Bears to bring back Cutler. He just wanted the franchise year rather than this.

Jay Cutler getting that long an extension is one of the dumbest personnel moves a team has ever made.

Congrats #Bears for re-signing Jay Cutler, even though your backup led the NFL in QBR and your defense can't stop an overweight slug.

Well, if I wasn't convinced the FO made the smart play in re-signing Cutler, the fact that Reilly hates it basically seals it.

I love when people complain about the length of NFL contracts.

Im glad to see him signed, it wasnt the best case scenario but it wasnt the worst either. Wouldve preferred franchising and developing a QB, I definitely think it's too much guaranteed given his injury rate.

54 mil guaranteed to a clown that isn't even close to an elite QB.

Lol if you're being serious.

Isn't that Erik's alias?

That would make a lot of sense.

Rodgers 62.5 guaranteed, Brees 60, Ryan 59, Peyton 58, Brady 57, Romo 55, Jay 54, Flacco 52, Bradford 50, Stafford 41.5.

Definitely a fair deal for Jay and Bears.

I don't know what an injury rate is but Cutler has been healthy enough to play more than most other QBs during his career.

I've already seen people fret over this being too long at 7 years, and for being worth more than Flacco in total despite being spread over more years.

People are dumb.

Only 3 NFL QB's have played more games than Jay Cutler (95) since 2007.

Jay has started 109 games and missed 12. Aaron Rodgers has started 89 games and missed 9.

It's really amazing just how dumb most people are.

Is there a dumber collective group in the American sports world than Chicago sports fans and media? New York is also terrible, but Chicago seems like it's on it's own level of stupidity.

I mean, it's possible it just feels that way because it's the teams I follow, but sometimes I really think it's that bad.
