The ONLY things that could be "gravity" or "seismic" are. .

1) Building new "Wrigley" elsewhere

2) Massive TV deal allowing huge spending as early as, like right now.

lmao I would LOVE it if they sprang No. 1 on us out of nowhere. now i hope that's it.

I wondered what was going on under that big tarp out in Rosement for the last year.

It would be hilarious, but it's not at all likely. They're spending a lot on renovations already, which would just be money down the drain. And stadium negotiations usually take months and involve a lot of public input from some councilman who doesn't want the taxpayers stuck with the bill.

Besides, so many towns would be willing to vie for the Cubs new ballpark that it wouldn't make sense to do it entirely in private.

why would somebody hope that awful #1 is true and not that amazingly awesome #2?

edit - oh wait

Tom Ricketts loves Wrigley too much. That would only happen if the massive news was something like, Rickett's selling the Cubs to Mark Cuban because they feel Mark would be better for the Cubs with all his money, and then Mark moves the Cubs and then proceeds throwing billions of dollars at the Cubs.

I see this as very unlikely. Which is why I think it's probably an announcement of some sort of mega TV deal ahead of the Comcast contract expiring. They probably found some legal way to sign a contract and get some massive money flowing, like now.

We just signed Chris Coghlan to a minor league deal. That HAS to be it.

One of the weakest Rookie of the Year winners in recent memory.

No kidding. But man, my copy of The Show '10 fuckin' LOVED him. I was able to trade him onto the Cubs a couple times and he just went into beast mode.

Maybe the renovations are just because Ricketts' plan the whole time was to flip Wrigley.

Loving that I chose to use the word seismic.

Maybe it's seismic, but very low seismic activity, like an earthquake that can only be detected via instruments.

Now you're onto something. You need a seismograph for something like that. Something really big and you just feel that [expletive].

Ah, more hints. *gobble gobble*.

Time to read every word ever written about the word seismic, for clues.

My guess is that it has to do with coaching staff... We're bringing in Theriot as Grit Coach?

I just barfed in my mouth. What did I ever do to you to deserve this torture?

WTF does that mean.

Hopefully he means he passed it on to some other reporters to look into and scoop on their own I guess.

He can't actually mean he passed it on to some random message board posters.
