@TyYoungfelt: Currently Thursday, 7:30pm in Japan- have been told word will come in no later than 9p Friday in Japan or 6p tonight stateside...here we go

This was pretty terribly worded.

He's long winded. Every ABTY post from PSD that ppl paste here is a paragraph or two. When he's restricted to twitter length, he struggles.

No I literally don't understand what it means. It's not Thursday anywhere right now. Then he posted this:

@TyYoungfelt: Followers: Tweet was sent out at around 3:30a about Thursday in Japan- was out w/group of friends,1 of which thinks Tanaka info craze is cnt

Ah, that was supposed to mean "continued". Next tweet was:

@TyYoungfelt: Is ridiculous- thought tweet would get a rise- doesn't understand tweeting to 32K is different than his 78...my apologies...

The dude is pretty immature.

Yea, not sure how much I believe him most of the time. I take anything he says with a pretty huge grain of salt. Right now he seems determined to make an ass out of himself.

He has had his Twitter hacked before. Not sure if this nonsensical stuff is a case of that.

The math on that time conversion is a little off, right?

Tanaka tweeted something that seems to mean "it is decided" according to amateurs using Google translate, but who knows.

current mood: We're getting used to drive up the price, again.

He's either deciding now or has decided

The (-_-;) at the end means he's nervous/anxious

Stand down, folks. Masahiro Tanaka's tweet says that he "cannot decide." (via @IchiroReport)

For what its worth (the source says they saw it on ESPN Chicago, but doesn't seem to be there)

(The 20th Japan time) on the 19th, according to sources there ", ESPN Chicago electronic version of the Cubs is Rakuten Tanaka Masahiro in the 6-8 year contract pitcher (25), $ 25 million annual salary

Sounds like an ABTY tweet.

We know that he hates money or loves it or doesn't care about money and hates butts or loves them.

Yeah it's completely off. Given when it was Tweeted, I'm just gonna assume he was drunk.

pretty sure they're just talking abou tthat rogers report from the other day

That Tanaka misunderstanding is amazing

@RobertMurrayMLB tanaka had asked his followers to send a photo for his profile pic. A bunch came in, and he tweeted "can't decide"

they've offered to purchase a penthouse in any borough of his chooseing that would, I believe, be offically Yanks property leased to him for a dollar or there abouts to save on taxes

There can't be any way MLB would let them get away with that. The IRS certainly won't.

So I don't use Twitter at all (shocker), and as an outsider it seems like every single "insider" or analyst tweet that is posted here is ripped to shreds by some people as being from someone who is wrong or unreliable or makes things up, etc., etc.. Who SHOULD I pay attention to when it comes to stuff like this?

That should be perfectly legal. Tanaka personally saves on taxes associated with the penthouse, but the Yankees would be on the hook for whatever taxes would be tied to it. So it's not like the IRS is missing out on anything, just getting it from the Yankees and not Tanaka. I would think housing arrangements similar to this aren't all that uncommon in sports.

Then it has to count against the cap. There's a reason we don't see NFL and NBA players living in team-owned housing, driving team-owned cars, etc. I don't believe MLB's luxury tax rules are written badly enough to allow it.
