@jjcoop36: Cubs Pierce Johnson was 91-94 mph in first didn't have to use his secondary stuff much yet. #notascout

@jjcoop36: Jeimer Candelario lines a clear double in the lcf power alley. Scratch that. Buxton runs it down and makes it look easy. Insane range.

Is Buxton the likely #1 overall prospect in baseball when new rankings come out soon (don't most guys/outlets do a re-ranking after the draft and around the ASB?)?

You can make a case for Buxton at #1. RT @ThatTonyG @MartinWayne93 @ProfessorParks @MartinWayne93 Where is Buxton going to be? Top 5?

Also, ICYMI

The #Cubs could have four prospects ranked in the top 20 in the game when the Baseball Prospectus mid-season top 50 is released. #could

I'd say #2 behind Oscar Taveras. If Profar returns to the minors, Jurickson would slot in at 1.

The 1st 3 are obvious. Alcantara would have to be the 4th, unless they're ready to count Bryant. My guess is that only Soler, Baez, and Almora make it with Alcantara on the honorable mention.

It's obviously Bryant.

@Frankieaaron @BleacherNation Alcantara is not a top 50 guy in the game right now. Assuming he signs, Bryant is an easy candidate.

Ali Bad JuJu Whosane ‏@aloosh2224 2h

@ProfessorParks Where might you rank Arismendy Alcantara?

Jason Parks ‏@ProfessorParks 2h

@aloosh2224 Not in the top 50; most likely not in the top 100. Rising, but not in the same class as the top 50.

Alcantara not in a top 100 is just hating...

Clearly has a vendetta against the Cubs.

There's a lot of good minor leaguers out there. Alcantara isn't even a unanimous Top 5 for the Cubs right now. It's not outrageous to say he's "most likely not in the Top 100" when you think that there are 30 teams with their own breakout prospects and premier talents.

he very well should be.

Eh, I guess you're right, I guess I like Johnson more and Alcantara less than a lot of us. The point is the same though, Alcantara is a step below 3-4 guys in our own system. That he's not a step above all but 2-3 guys in every other system isn't being a hater.

Clearly I said unless they're ready to count Bryant who's not yet in the fold. If 2013 draftees are included, Bryant's the obvious choice. If not, Alcantara would be the only option I could think due to age, position, and level.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled LOL WSR psychobabble and random memes.

3 hits and a run through 4 for Johnson. Almora has a double in two plate appearances.

Apparently it was an infield double.

Almora has INSANE speed

Wasn't he a 50/50 speed guy when we drafted him?
