Soler with an RBI double so far in 3 AB.

Cates got hit around (8 H and 4 ER in 5 IP) but managed 4 Ks and only 1 BB.

Dustin Geiger is at .325/.383/.503. 17 walks and 27 strikeouts. I know he's probably a butcher anywhere you put him in the field, but would anyone have them in the back of their top 30 at this point?

At this point ... perhaps on the back end. I haven't really pondered an entire list, but off the top, if someone wanted to argue for him at the back end of the top 30 ... I can't see myself having a big issue with it. It's not like it's "fluke" power - the raw power was always known. Whether or not he can maintain this, I don't know, but yeah, back end top 30 doesn't seem out of question at this point.

That said, I really want to see consistent performance from him for multiple months, as he's likely destined to a 1st/LF/DH role (and I'm not so sure I'd want him in the OF) if he makes it up, so the bat is going to have to play.

Did somebody tell him what to do?

You gotta think his comment on Twitter may have reflected this. Keeping it in house is the right thing to do, but still......Would be nice to know if there may have been some sort of incident. I can certainly imagine him telling a coach to [expletive] off.

Kyle Hendricks dominating again so far. What's the deal?

He could very well make some mid season top 20-30 lists. Especially taking consideration the overall meh-ness that we've gotten from the majority of our pitching prospects.

Plus command helps any pitcher, particularly a guy who isn't known to have plus stuff (That said, his stuff isn't bad ... all 4-5 of his pitches are at least average). I recall a report somewhere saying that he was a pretty cerebral pitcher and tried to learn how to improve his pitch sequencing. Stuff seems a bit sharper/better this year, although I don't know if anyone is calling his stuff plus.

I wasn't huge on him entering the year, not because I didn't like him, but more because I want to see how the command holds and how his stuff plays. He's been very impressive, though.

If he keeps this up, I'd be surprised if he wasn't on everyone's top 30 lists. I mean, heck, I think you can make a case for top 15 right now in our system. A long way to go until we need to think about mid-season lists, though.

Alcantata HR.

We know we've got Javy, Soler, and Almora as top 100 guys heading into next year. Guess there's a chance for Vizcaino as well, if he doesn't get big league time later on in the year, but pitches well in Iowa.

That said, we've got Alcantara, Vogelbach, Johnson, and Candelario all having a decent shot at moving into these type lists. I think I'd expect 2 of them to get in, up in the air still, as to which 2. Then, we'll have the 2nd pick and possibly a player or two we acquire in deadline deals as well. Think we'll be a top 5 system heading into next year rather easily.

The comment on twitter was shortly after he posted "Go Heat!" and a bunch of Bulls fans jumped all over him for it and said he should be a Bulls fan.

Kane County in a shootout. And thankfully, they don't have much in the way of prospects nobody cares about, who are putting up all the numbers. Almora 2-4 with another double. Jeimer with 4 RBIs. Unfortunately, Maples got lit up though and was wild.
