CJ Edwards.... is black?

I..uh..what?

Is this a mojo parody? or Derwood? I'M CONFUSED.

Ughhhh now I am doubting my memory and I know that if I search "Edwards" and "Black" I'm going to get a lot of Corey. Was that not Mojo or Derwood? DID I MAKE THIS UP

It was me...but it was only like 3 months after we acquired him.

I find it hard to talk about Rizzo for MVP when he's hitting .196 .300 .402 .702 over his last 30 games and .242 .345 .460 .806 in his last 90

I love Riz to pieces but he's not the MVP this year. Maybe next year.

not sure where to post this but i wanted others to point and laugh

apparently some white sox fans (and a cardinal fan) think the cubs tampered to get rizzo because jed hoyer used to be employed by the padres or something (i think they must think hoyer was still in san diego when the trade happened or something)

because that was such an obvious fleecing at the time, too

Those posters are just jealous and talking crap. I don't blame them. If Rizzo didn't play for our team, I would probably be jealous of him, too.

I have to say, as I've read through that thread this season, I've been impressed with how reasonable and level-headed some of their posters seem. I think they're probably more fair to the Cubs than we tend to be to the Cardinals, but that may be because we aren't their real rivals.

Eh, I was hoping for more; it's mostly people actually having a pretty civil back and forth about some of the concerns about Rizzo early on in the 2013 season, and then people doing a good job of allaying those fears. Kind of a snooze.

This is kind of silly, but also kinda neat

"Rizzo has slashed .278/.388/.511 overall, a little more than 40 percent better than the average NL hitter after adjusting for the friendly confines. But he’s excelled in crucial spots, batting .313/.438/.553 with men on, .296/.417/.578 with runners in scoring position, and .283/.479/.547 with two outs and runners in scoring position. And because he plays for a postseason team, Rizzo’s clutchness counts"
