Man, all of a sudden I really want the Pacers to lose.

Ugh, no. The Knicks deserve nothing but misery, now and forever.

The rejuvenation of the Yankees is bad enough, I could really use a Knicks/Rangers combo elimination soon.

I genuinely can't remember the last time I rooted for a New York team to win at anything.

I've wanted the Giants to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

And I've rooted for the Devils (obviously not a NY team) because I have easy access to tickets and they are like 15 minutes away from my house.

Ah yeah, forgot about that Giants-Patriots Super Bowl. That was a really painful choice to have to make. I blocked it out.

I don't really hate the Mets or Islanders.

Weird to hear a Cubs fan say they don't hate the Mets but I guess that's the norm now.

It wasn't for me, I was rooting for New England. Not because I care for the Patriots at all, but I developed a strong disdain for 1972 Dolphins. And NY sports can rot for all I care.

I can't really think of a reason for a Cubs fan in his 20's to hate the Mets.

Are we supposed to hate the Mets because of '69?

My hatred of them has cooled considerably due to their incompetence and extremely consistent mediocrity of late. It was at its peak during the prime of my childhood, when they were really good for a long time and won a world series right after the Cubs got my hopes up and then fell apart. It was more of a jealousy thing, but that was the 80s. I never really cared about the 69 storyline, and since I've been out here the only thing the Mets have meant is an easy way to see the Cubs. My hatred is reserved for the Yankees out here due to the absurd level of entitlement and sanctimony surrounding everything that has to do with that franchise.

Knicks have signs of life. Pacers announce Hill is out for game 5 with a concussion (nobody had any idea he was even hurt). No idea if this will be ongoing or not.

Because Ron Santo hated them.

Only a couple days after saying they wouldn't sell to a Sacramento group, the Maloofs agreed to sell a 65 percent stake of the Kings to a Sacramento group. I figured it was just a last ditch effort on their part over the weekend to try to sway the owners and that's what it appears to have been. Good riddance. I don't think anyone will miss the Maloofs.

Now get the arena deal done.

I guess; I mean, it's only been about 20 years since they stopped being divisional rivals. I was just "taught" to dislike the Mets as much as the Cardinals when I was a kid and it's always stuck.

This. I don't think my dad's hatred of the Mets reached Santo-like proportions, but he definitely instilled a healthy distaste for them in me.

Ousted NBA players' association executive director Billy Hunter alleges in a lawsuit that president Derek Fisher had a secret deal with owners during the 2011 lockout that benefited himself, his publicist and certain players.

Hunter contends that Fisher undermined Hunter's efforts to make an agreement and interfered with his position by secretly negotiating with select owners in violation of union bylaws.

If true (and even if not true) Derrick Fisher is a giant douche

He left Utah to "take care of his ailing daughter," then immediately signed back with the Lakers. Then pretty much did the same thing to Dallas this year. He's trash.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he left Utah because it was too far west and the treatment his daughter was receiving was being done in like New York or out east somewhere. So naturally he goes to LA.

I believe they also had like a goodbye thing for him in Utah as he was going to be done playing for awhile. Then he's chasing another ring. I have never liked the guy.
