Someone needs to make a Former Cubs Top 10 Prospects version of that or something. DONNIE VEAL NEEDS HIS DAY IN THE SUN

Donnie Veal had a 1.38 ERA and 1.09 FIP in 24 games for the White Sox in 2012. His day in the sun has passed.

Angel Guzman, top prospect 20XX

He'd be the equivalent of Sosa or Soriano on the starting lineups quiz.

#Cubs will wear commemorative No. 14 patch on home/away uniforms to honor Ernie Banks this year

i'm an [expletive]. saw this and first thing i thought was how i irrationally hate commemorative patches because they make photos/highlights dated. i know it doesn't make any rational sense so please don't ask me to defend it.

On it. How far back should I go? I can go as far back as 1983.

I generally don't like them either, but I bought the #10 patch to put on my Santo jersey. I'm a massive hypocrite.

I almost did one going back to 1995 but then I was like [expletive] this.

Oh man I was just gonna say like 2000 or something

I could only go back to 2003. For whatever reason BA's 2001 and 2002 lists are completely missing form the interwebz. They had 1983-2000 archived, but their Top 10 individual page results ended in 2003. Plus it took a long time to get there and like David said, I decided to say "[expletive] this" and just end it.

Enjoy: http://www.sporcle.com/games/gallow737/top-10-cubs-prospects

EDIT: Messed up our 2011 #1 prospects position, fixed it.

I feel like SSR will come in and own on this.

And Kyle would probably do terribly.

207. Missed as many from the last 4 seasons(including one from last year!) as I did the prior 19. Thanks Theobama

Gary Scott

Maldonado

Mulholland

DeShields

Dempster(lol)

Baker(knew it was a righty platoon mate but had no idea who)

A shameful 68 on that one.

I was thinking of McNutt and could not for the life of me remember his name. Infuriating. Can't believe I forgot Shark and frigging Felix Pie!

Ill leave this here.

Some of those prospects I knew, but couldn't remember their names. they were in my head as "Korean shortstop," "often-injured high pick pitcher with diminished stuff," "Fireballer who didn't work out," "the big bonus 2nd round pitcher with the double B name," "That guy who played 2B and 3B that got traded for Nomar," "That guy who played 3B everybody said had a perfect swing and would be a contact monster even though it never ever resulted in anything in the minors," etc.

And then I forgot the guys who have actually played on the Cubs in the last half decade.

Most embarrassed for forgetting Castro, Shark, Cashner, Colvin, Archer, and EPatt.

Also the above descriptions were Hak-ju Lee, Dillon Maples, Mark Pawelek, Bobby Brownlie, Brendan Harris, and David Kelton.

Only got 73 on the prospects, probably could've done more with more time but I really struggled with the pitchers. Seeing RHP and LHP did nothing to help spur the memory.

Exactly the number I got.
