Giordanos is the worst deep dish pizza in Chicago, imo.

Of the big chains I think Uno's (too dry and overcooked) and Lou Malnati's (too soupy/mushy) are worse. I just prefer Giordano's thin crust compared to them.

You're crazy, IMO.

I always liked Remlinger.

What was Remlinger's ridiculous injury? Not "tripped over my dog" ridiculous, but didn't something bizarre happen to him? May be thinking of someone else

Something about a folding chair in the clubhouse. Cut his finger or foot or something.

I was thinking it was kicking an electric fan, but that was Farnsworth.

Speaking of great 2003 moments. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCYQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D9mt0_0k40t4&ei=TUrxUsmoNIeJogTzlIHwCQ&usg=AFQjCNHYH56RXAngK6O1Dg95VComT_-QHQ&sig2=wEl-1X_bJIQF6OMM3MhMGw

Gotta get Lous well done. That's the ticket.

And yes, Unos sucks. Totally forgot that existed.

I honestly don't really dislike any pizza. I'll even enjoy Domino's FFS. It's tomato sauce and cheese and bread. It can't not be good. I mean, even a freaking Tombstone is good.

The one exception to that is Papa John's. That [expletive] is awful.

No, Papa Johns is still okay (hello, Garlic Butter Sauce). The closest you can get to bad pizza is St Louis style. But even then it's like, usually fine.

And I like Giordano's the best of the Chicago Stuffed/Deep Dish styles. But even Chicago thin crust blows away all other pizzas I've ever eaten.

I'm sick of Papa Johns because they sell it by the slice in the cafeteria at work. I just can't do it anymore. Otherwise I'm with you. I'll eat just about any pizza. My son loves Little Ceasars, and hey...a $5 pizza...sure, what the hell.

We just got a D'Agostino's down here and I gave it a shot and really was pretty meh about it.

I'll eat Little Ceasar's if only so that I can have some crazy bread with it.

I'll eat [expletive] totinos pizza you can get on sale for a dollar, it's delicious.

Second this so much.

Broke the pinky on his left hand in one of the folding lounge chairs.

When I read that Farnsworth broke his foot kicking a fan, I thought they meant a human.

I agree. Much prefer Lou's. That being said, the worst Chicago style is 100000x better than the best St. Louis style.

Living in St. Louis I can attest that Provel cheese tastes like garbage and BO.

agreed. i also feel like jack's pizzas don't get enough respect (at sale price, anyway).

i saw the papa john's cookie pizza on TV and was intrigued... but then i realized i'd have to eat their pizza too. not happening. i don't know if any pizza is bad, but that and giordano's (thin, stuffed, whatever) come close for me. they are the worst in their respective fields.

If you think Giordano's is bad you have an untrustworthy palate.

I can't even get my mind to fully grasp how bad Provel is. I try explaining it to people who haven't tried it, but I just don't have the words.

Here's how I describe it to people: It's like Velveeta and ketchup on a saltine and a large that I can polish off about 2/3 of myself is $20.

there's a case to be made that on a cost-to-taste efficiency standpoint, those are the best food on earth

[expletive] yes. I lived in St. Louis for about 6 years.

Take a frozen pizza crust, smear it with ketchup and vaseline, and you have St. Louis style pizza.

The only decent pie in STL is found at Black Thorn, and even that isn't great.

We seem to be more or less done.

Projection for 2014:

Lake (0.0)/Sweeney (1.0)/Schierholtz (1.0) (Ruggiano/Kalish 1.0)

Valbuena (1.5)/Castro (2.5)/Barney (1.5)/Rizzo (3.0) (Murphy/Watkins 0.0)

Castillo (2.0) (Kottaras 1.0)

Samardzija (2.5)/Wood (2.0)/Jackson (2.0)/Hammel (1.0)/Arrieta (1.0) (Various: 0.5)

Bullpen rotating a dozen or more guys in and out (3.5)

Total WAR: 27

Projected record: 75-87

There's not a single player in the outfield who deserves a starting job on a major-league team. The rotation kind of sucks, too.

I still don't see how, short of "every single high-upside player in AAA or higher turns into a stud" or "Epstein changes his mind about 30+ big-money FAs and signs four of them" that this team becomes a major contender in 2015. But, after the trade deadline, the emphasis should begin to shift and we finally leave "asset accumulation" mode and enter the transition phase where we try to actually turn this into MLB success.

There's still tons of room for a big sell-off there if we want one. We're going to see some prospects mix in as the year goes on, but maybe not as many as people are starting to expect. It seems like we've entered the time of year where "yeah, it's not impossible he could move up that fast if he has an amazing year" becomes the default expectation and suddenly we're supposedly going to see Bryant, Baez, Alcantara and Hendricks all in the lineup by July.

I still haven't tried Pequods, which is basically unforgivable since the two places I have lived in my life are Skokie and Lincoln Park.

I missed this. I went there based on high recommendations from some friends and while it was good, I wasn't all that impressed.
