if Orlando opts for McLemore, i'll start dreaming up scenarios where Pistons can trade ahead of Sacto and fill their PG vacanty with Burke and i can regain moderate interest in the NBA regular season again

Can't remember a time when this many 7 footers were projected to go in the first round. Of course most of them will probably end up being stiffs.

/stiff and injured.

My rule of thumb when it comes to NBA drafting is never take a guy 7'1 or taller. 7'0 debatable.

That's a really strange rule of thumb.

Not really. If you think about it, there haven't been any good 7'1"+ picks in the history of the NBA.

I dare you to name one.

(please note sarcasm).

It's not a bad rule. Really, at that point you're only eliminating 3 of the top 10 players of all time. Probably.

7 footers who only way 210 lbs. should probably be avoided

Of course, one will go #1 overall, but that's because NBA GM's are idiots

You said it more eloquently than I would have.

I don't like Noel, but he's 19. He can eat and lift. He'll be 240 in three years if he wants to be.

I often wonder about how great Shaq's career could have been if he was 6'9"

he would have been the best pf of all time instead of the best c?

What if he'd been 5'11". Then you've got yourself a superstar.

You remember Khalid El-Amin's career very differently than I do.

I was thinking for a good comp for a 5'11" Shaq, but was drawing a blank. That's the one, right there.

Man, Khalid El-Amin. Talk about a blast from the past.

12-year-old (or whatever I was) me was pretty excited the Bulls got him, and it was probably 3/4 because his name was cool.

Wilt Chamberlain was better than Shaq for my money. But, he was also hampered by being 7 foot.

Hmm. Of those guys, Olajuwon, Duncan, Dirk, and Gasol are under 7'1" at least. Not sure on Parrish.

Honestly, it would be a better rule of thumb if you meant that you wouldn't draft a player if you can't block them completely from your view with your thumb up.

All of those guys are 7'0" except for Duncan, who is 6'11".

Parish was also 7'0".
