I love Withey, but I have trouble seeing him as much more than a low-minutes defensive specialist. I don't think he's strong enough to really bang consistently. And he'll be an offensive non-factor.

 

I figure he can be a poor man's Asik (last year's version) on defense and actually be able to catch the ball on offense. As for Crabbe, I know nothing about him at all (Like Saric, but I figure a 6'10'' SF is interesting and I've heard his name mentioned as a top intl prospect) but by Rasin's description he sounds like what Daequon Cook was supposed to be coming out of OSU which would be nice to have next to Rose

He probably won't be able to come stateside for a while though.

How is shooting guard the easiest position to find a guy at? Name the good two guards in the league right now. There aren't that many.

 

I meant in the sense that there are a top of guys in the 6'4"- 6'7" range that can run, jump and shoot. Not a ton of really good 2Gs in the league, but it's still a dime-a-dozen position.

 

But for fun:

 

Kobe, Wade, and Harden are really good. Ginobili, Joe Johnson, Mayo, Jamal Crawford, and Iguodala are a pretty good second tier. Guys like Klay Thompson, Bradley Beal, Lance Stephenson, Eric Gordon are a step away from the conversation. JR Smith and Demar Derozan also put up 18ppg this year at 2G. And guys like Jimmy Butler and Paul George are players who started games at SG this year.

Those first three are awesome, but those guys aren't available. I want no part of Joe Johnson or Jamal Crawford and neither would Thibs. I think that's gonna be our biggest issue in finding a top two guard. They're gonna have to be able to defend at a pretty high level to do what Thibs wants to do.

@chadfordinsider: Hearing Croatia's Dario Saric leaning toward withdrawing from the NBA Draft. Has until Jun 17 to make it official.

 

@chadfordinsider: Saric is projected as a lottery pick by most teams.  But wants to get another year of experience in Europe.

With all the Jordan/LeBron comparisons going on, I'm watching this game in amazement seeing the defense give LeBron a 4 foot cushion on the perimeter and him not take the shot ever. I'm talking 3 point line and in to about 19-20 feet. 8 years into his career, there's no way Jordan would have been given that cushion and not just knocked down the shot almost every time.

Ryan (Chicago) Chad, Have you been hearing anything on the Bulls?

 

Chad Ford  (1:13 PM) They've been quiet, but it's pretty clear that they are targeting shooters by looking at the guys they've brought in. Karasev (though I think he's off the board there), Crabbe and Bullock are the top options.
