Cubs are going to be very loud about that distinction. RT @BruceMiles2112: Cubs say Fujikawa's injury forearm muscle related & elbow is fine

That's what they always say at this point in the injury process. Sometimes it's true, but the fact that they said it doesn't really change anything for me.

I stopped trusting what the Cubs said about injuries after Bill Mueller, honestly.

so i guess this is the part where he tries to rehab it, ends up having tjs around the all-star break, and we pretty much lose him for his entire contract

We have a 3rd year option at 6.5, not that we'd exercise it in that scenario.

So for 2014, here's a list of pitchers we have anywhere in the organization who (imo) are more than 50% likely to be able to break camp with the team and pitch at least at MLB replacement level:

Samardzija, Jackson, Wood, Villanueva, Russell.

We have a ton of work to do on the pitching staff if we want to be competitive in 2014, and we absolutely cannot trade anyone from that list unless we're getting MLB quality pitchers back (something like the Marshall trade).

When you put it this way (correctly), its almost staggering.
