Purdue is only playing IU once this year, at Mackey. Apparently Fred Glass is going to ask Purdue to play IU in a non-conference game at IU. No thanks. Not when we've got a young team and don't have to play in East Lansing or Bloomington. If they could've worked it out so they played in the Crossroads Classic that would've been fine, but not in the Hall of Calls.

No need to be scared. Sheehey's return to Mackey should be good TV. Are they keeping the "Defense Lives Here" banner up in front of the Paint Crew next year?

Seriously though, I don't see the need for a non conference IU/PU game.

Evan Gordon to IU for a year. Will add some experience to backcourt, but that is probably about it.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to Sheehey doing something douchey with Bryson Scott on the floor.

That sucks. It's difficult to believe that the Big Ten (1) doesn't understand Indiana-Purdue is a big rivalry; and/or (2) could not modify the schedule to ensure they play twice. Disappointing.

The beat reporter at Purdue's Rivals site was saying he thinks it will be a 'protected' rivalry after this year. Not sure where he got that information though.

I'd like it if they put IU v Purdue in the classic the years they only played one in conference. Rotate Butler and ND otherwise. Shouldnt be that hard to coordinate. I'd rather that than have protected games. I think that's a stupid concept. Schedule is a "luck of the draw" unless ur rival happens to be really good or bad.

Oh I agree, if they could face each other in Indy every few years that would be great.

Sandi Marcius has transferred from Purdue to DePaul. I would imagine he'll be starting there?

I thought he wanted to go back home? Why leave Purdue for DePaul?

Playing time. AJ Hammons. He does want to go back home and play pro ball so he's trying to get minutes to prove himself.

In turn, our previous "center", Donnavon Kirk is going to transfer. He is more of a face up 3/4 than a post guy. Can't rebound a lick, but has a smooth offensive game for someone his size. Due to DePaul's terrible post players and rebounders, he was forced into playing in the post a lot. I actually really like his game, could be a very effective 6th man as a face up 4.

Also, one of our other guys, Derrell Robertson, more of a low post presence who has no offensive game, allegedly visited Purdue last week. I think he sucks, but is a big body who made strides as a shotblocker last year. Fouls a ton, though, so he might fit right in in the B1G.

Marcius is a high energy guy that will play tough defense and rebound. Most of his scoring comes from put back dunks and transition stuff. He's surprisingly athletic and he makes his free throws but he's not going to wow anyone with his offense. He would've played regularly for Purdue, just not a starters workload. I'm going to miss him because we had a lot of guys slacking last year and when he came in it was balls to the wall the whole time. He does tend to get into foul trouble too, haha.

I would be surprised if Purdue ends up taking Robertson. If they do, it's to have a big body for Hammons and Simpson to practice against. Painter is recruiting bigs heavy for 2014 as if he expects Hammons to leave after this year.

Sounds like Marcius is the exact opposite of everyone on DePaul. LOL. Let's hope he can provide some toughness. And, yes, you don't want Purdue to take Robertson. He sucks.

Memphis graduate Tarik Black is transferring to KU for his final year of eligibility.

Hahaha Memphis graduate. Like that's a real thing.

Jerrance Howard is joining KU's staff. I know he has a great reputation as a recruiter. Do UI fans know how he is as a coach? He's replacing a guy who had a solid reputation as an instructor.

I don't get this move for Kansas. He's a very good recruiter, but self doesn't really need help in that. He's awful as a coch from what I have heard. I guess this about getting in hood with Okafor and Alexander?

Purdue added two fifth year graduate transfers. Forward Errick Peck graduated from Cornell and played his high school basketball at Cathedral in Indianapolis. Guard Sterling Carter is coming from Seattle University and I know nothing about him other than he likes to shoot every chance he gets. We've still got one scholarship available for this year...

He's a recruiter. He has some great relationships in Chicago. Always seemed extremely tight with players too.
