I kinda like Blue's game. I see him as a late 1st round talent. If not now then after next year.

Sounds like he's not even a first round lock status, but more likely a second rounder. Jeff Goodman was pretty shocked to hear this and could see him possibly not even being drafted.

I can see the logic if the player has reached their ceiling, but that doesn't look to the case with Blue.

Academic issues maybe? Wasn't the rumor as to why he didn't go to Madison?

I think it was more style of play, he wanted to be in a more open/fast paced offense

Unless he's going to play for D'Antoni, he probably shouldn't go to the NBA then.

DePaul arena search takes an interesting, and potentially awesome, turn. Finally concrete information that there is interest in the Finkl steel plant at Armitage/Clybourn/Southport. It's about a 15 minute walk from campus and right off of the Kennedy and convenient to the Metra and a couple of bus lines. Would have to be a multi use facility (retail, housing, open space) to make financial and neighborhood sense and there would be environmental issues, but this is an opportunity for a game changer. Probably the best semi-realistic option they have (Sheffield and Fullerton is NOT going to ever happen).

Rumor has it Marcus Smart will return to OSU. Seems like a bad decision from a financial/draft position pov. Kid was gonna be a top 3 pick.

looks to be the case. can't imagine why the 3 osu guys would be having their announcement together on campus if they weren't all coming back. oh well, iowa state was going to finish behind them anyway since nash is coming back.

This is amazing. I hate the South Loop arena possibility and was very disappointed that DePaul seemed to be going through with this as their first option. Didn't make sense to see. Hope there is something to this but from what I've read there are probable environmental issues on that site that could take years to clear up.

Unfortunately, due to the environmental factors, NIMBYs driving up cost to make it a multi-multi use facility with everything under the sun, and my complete lack of faith in the current School and Athletic Department administration, I doubt this happens.

But, if it does, they could also use this project to enhance their training facilities and even incorporate high end housing/studying/eating area for the players which could help kill it in recruiting. Without exaggerating, they could go from the worst facilities in the Big East to the best if they can get this done with a huge commitment.

Unfortunately, they'll probably end up sharing the South Loop arena and being the 2nd tenant behind the Chicago Sky or something.

TH Jr is declaring for the draft today.

That leaves 2 still undecided for Michigan.

As much as I am in favor of anything that helps increase the chances of Iowa beating Michigan, I hate seeing players like him and Burke leaving early. The NBA is stupid.

Except when the Bulls have Michael Jordan and are awesome.

I usually never question anyone going for the money. I think in Hardaway and Robinsons case though, I may have a slightly different opinion. Still hard to argue going for the money.

I think they should go back to letting guys come out of HS, but if you go to college you have to stay 2-3 years or be a certain age (like 20/21 or whatever the average soph/junior in college age is).

With regards to Hardaway there's no guarantee he is a 1st round pick. If he gets picked in the 2nd round, it might have been the wrong choice to leave.

Well that would probably just hurt the college game then. If you are a potential 1st round pick out of HS and your choices are leave now or commit to 3 years of college, most are going to choice to go pro.

That would hurt the college game? I think the roster stability would help the game.

A lot less talent going into the game, leads to crappier play. Then it hurts the NBA by once again flooding it with projects that arent ready for the league.

Oh yeah, but that's been going on forever. Magic Johnson only played two years of college.

Michigan announces a 4:30 pm press conference with Glenn Robinson III and Mitch McGary

Sounds like they're going pro. Does Michigan go from a likely top-15/20 team to NIT team with GR3 and McGary gone?
