Actually, no, he's not. He was worth about $16 million last year and been worth about $76 million overall.

Soriano did force Hendry at gunpoint to sign him to the deal, so I guess you have a point.

 

Soriano was worth $16.4M last year, barely underperforming his salary.

If the Cubs were supposed to contend, it'd be really cool if they would ditch the 'closer' role entirely - but I'm sure Theo's hoping someone will overpay him for a closer at the deadline, so they probably won't ditch it.
