148 pitches? Yikes.

But still very impressive.

Second most pitches in a no-hitter in the last 25 seasons behind Edwin Jackson's 149 in 2010.

So Houston's Erik Bedard didn't give up a hit in 6 1/3 innings, but allowed three runs, one earned, while walking 5 and striking out 10. He then asked to be taken out of the game because he'd thrown 109 pitches already. Houston ended up losing the game 4-2 despite the Mariners getting only one hit.

-Bedard is the second pitcher in the live ball era to allow 3+ runs on 0 hits in 6+ IP

-Seattle is the 4th team in the modern era to score 4+ runs on 1 or fewer hits

-Seattle now has 3 wins over the last 25 years with 1 or fewer hits, which is tied with the White Sox for most over that span

Garza's line versus the Yanks: 7.1 innings, 5 hits, 5 Ks, 0 BB, 1 Run, 0 ER, left with bases empty and a 2-1 lead.

The one run the yankees did get came from gardner reaching base on a comebacker to garza, who then threw it into the ground and about 8 feet wide of first base. Gardner got to third on the throwing error. Just garza being garza.

Swear to god the [expletive] Cardinals are the luckiest team in sports. Satanists.

I went to the Dodgers-Cardinals game last night and got to see Puig up close. Man, that dude is a cocky bastard. Just the way he carries himself and there were a couple fly balls hit to him where he just lollygagged over to it and almost didn't make the play on one of them. I think he's not too far from getting a few in the ribs to make a point.

I was at Saturday's game where he was all over the field and made that ridiculous catch-that-wasn't-a-catch. He's an incredible athlete.

I heard he hates puppies.

He did make a hell of a throw from the track last night that nailed the cutoff man who made the relay to the plate to get a guy that would have tied the game at the time. The guy is amazingly athletic and has a cannon. He made a couple throws last night that you don't see too often.

Weekday mariners games are killers. I'm glad they only play a handful every season. The urge to take off at noon, hop on the light rail and watch baseball in the sun for like $15 is pretty hard to resist.

Good thing you don't live here.

The fact that you can get into the stadium for about $10 and sit almost anywhere after a couple innings is a big part of the draw. And that I'm looking down at it right now and the people in RF seem to be enjoying their afternoon a hell of a lot more than I am.

Shelby Miller leaves STL game after getting hit in back of pitching elbow by line drive.

An event that leads to the demise of Mark Prior's career and likely the strengthening of Shelby Miller's.

Chris Archer left today's game in the second inning with forearm stiffness.

Yeah I was at that one, fairly close, and you could hear it. Sounded bad.

As for Puig, dude made a routine throw in from deep right to the infield that was just amazing. And seemingly effortless.

Josh Reddick had 5 home runs in his first 315 PA's this year. He's got 5 in his last two games.
