Reid-Foley, Adams and Gatto are the 3 best HS pitchers left on BA's board. Dylan Cease would be with them, if not for TJS.

The competitive balance picks aren't that bad. As long as you aren't a fan of some dumb team that is throwing away all the advantages that come with being a big market team that make up for them.

There aren't any advantages any more. I mean, yeah, you can still way overpay for guys when they become FA, but it's hard to get good players when you can't pick high and you can't overpay for amateurs.

It won't happen, but it'd be hilarious if we took another position player at 45

Who r some of the overslot pitches left? Is Gatewood a better option at this point?

Gatto, Reid-Foley, Adams, Varga.

Cease and Bukauskas

I edited to add Cease. Bakauskas is a guy you have to take after round 11.

Crazy power but only 5 HR in a high school season? Maybe he got walked every other AB.

He slugged .748.

Weird swing mechanics, lots of swing and miss.

Except that most guys worth overpaying for never hit free agency anymore.

Pfft, yeah, you can still get major leaguers, but who wants them? If you can't pay Shawon Dunston Jr. $1m, then there's not really any advantage at all...

@kileymcd: Blake Anderson didn't make my top 291 but when I was in Mississippi this spring, I heard 4-5 teams were really high on him. Most were not.

@kileymcd: Paging @JustinStowell the Marlins just took a guy 36th overall that I had somewhere in the early 300's. Rip me a new one!

"What do you hope to learn from Jean Segura?"

Do any of these idiots understand how professional baseball works?

Despite the need for pitcher, I would have loved Fisher or Papi.

ETA: Damn, didn't notice Wall off the board. Not many bats I like left.

You're bad at arguing about what the argument is actually about.

Of course not.

Remember when Mike Trout attended his draft and was the only draftee there? Harold Reynolds couldn't pick him out of a lineup the day before.

Gatto, Reid-Foley, Adams, Varga, Cease (might need TJS).

I'm not a fan of Gatewood, I think he's too risky and I feel this regime tends to limit picking those types of offensive players.

Plus Cuse's kid Blewett.

Pretty damn good.

I recall Hunter Renfoe, who was drafted by the Padres in the first round last year, was walked 60 times in around 150 plate appearances and still had over 20 home runs his senior year of high school. Led the nation in homers I believe.

I'm sure he's a fine player who could be a quality major leaguer some day, but damn, that kid's name lends itself to some awful headlines.
